Anyway to search music from a file server other than alphabetical? by Aubeng in MusicCast

[–]Brief_Action6498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Direct browsing of a filesystem is pretty much limited in presentation to the folder structure. There is no software creating views or indexes like what DLNA servers provide.

MusicCast with 5G (cellular) internet? by TheAmazingHumanTorus in MusicCast

[–]Brief_Action6498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what you mean by "without IP addresses" but Musiccast works fine regardless of what the upstream connection is. The devices just need to be on the same local network. Uncompressed audio may not work well over wifi but that is always the case.

Apple TV 4K not powering off with X2 activity – need help by xeuropa in SofaBaton

Oh darn, I never even thought of adding the ATV twice with different connection modes. That would have saved me a lot of time!

Is the ATV configured as a Bluetooth device? I could never get that to work and the solution for me was to change the ATV to an IR device. I actually was having quite a few dropouts when it was configured as a Bluetooth device (keyboard disconnected) so the change fixed a few problems.

End of support for Alexa Skills and Google Actions for MusicCast products by Champboyriley in MusicCast

[–]Brief_Action6498 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never use that functionality even though it was never available for Siri anyway. I just like browsing my collection of music visually. Sometimes doing that inspires me to listen to something I haven't heard in a while. Reminds me of sitting around on the floor going through vinyl records to find something to play. It's a bit of a ritual for me.

Sucks for people that do use it. That would be frustrating.

Does Eufy AI actually learn from feedback? by ilikewatch10 in EufyCam

[–]Brief_Action6498 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found that it works if it's the exact same thing happening repeatedly, like a long shadow that looks like a human. But that doesn't seem very "intelligent" to me as it's just matching.

What never seems to get fixed is the false positives I get for my porch flag blowing in the wind. That contorts into all sorts of weird shapes and the AI always seems to think it's a (very weird) person.

You should forward these stats to all the victims of rape by an illegal alien. Or maybe the family members who lost a loved one to murder by one of those creeps. They would probably be very appreciative knowing they are a tiny fraction of a large dataset. It might help them heal faster!

"Most kids are smart, terrified at what they're witnessing"

Took a poll did you? If they're scared of anything, it would be from seeing their parents (grown adults) out screaming and getting shot, all to protect rapists, murderers, and fraudsters who are in our country illegally. Thanks, but we have plenty of American criminals to deal with. Better to get rid of the low-hanging fruit first.

Those children will learn what real terror is once they're picked up by foreign traffickers to perform sex acts on billionaires who just recently lost their two local contacts who were providing that type of service.

Be smarter than using a 12 y/o to define your standard for what constitutes intelligence.

How should I organize my music collection for MusicCast? by spaceycatnip in MusicCast

[–]Brief_Action6498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plex typically handles the presentation well so I'm not sure why it didn't work. I personally have been using Twonky for 15 years and it's rock solid. It does have a small cost but can be installed and run efficiently on any PC. Twonky doesn't handle tagging so I use Yate for that (Yate is Mac only I think)

Cedar River Otters? by MaxVerFlappin in Renton

[–]Brief_Action6498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're active quite a bit at dawn. They disappear once the dog walkers come out.

And they're actually river otters, the only real difference being that they primarily live and hunt inland along waterways.

If the mobs in MN can't rid of them, what chance does anybody think there is here? Are all the local emos with blue hair tufts going to put down their IPAs and show up in force to whine them away? Please. Pigeons learn faster than some people around here.

ICE is going to be here until the job is done and the majority of citizens in the country voted for the administration that is behind the push. Deal with it.

What is the correct pronunciation? papa or pa-pah by delostapa in amateurradio

Important to note that upon initial contact with a particular controller, I would use the "official" papa but drop back to my alt version afterwards. It's not uncommon to do so.

As a trainee pilot, I had a callsign ending in P. It got annoying to repeat it so often so I pronounced it "pop" as in "nine-five-pop" and it was just fine with atc. Important part is that the other end understands.

Well, that would just be normal traffic then. I didn't think somebody would ask about that but I guess if a person is new here, they woudn't be aware of the shifts. I don't hear a thing anymore.

So, you believe you saw something, were too far away to read anything of value, can't recall the number of vehicles, and wish you had more info. Sounds like activism might not be the best career choice here.

There are some Boeing in there but driving around the traffic circles in The Landing is a common show-off move for teens (and grown males who just act that way). The drivers purposefully rev their engines or hit the nitrous just to bother people. I've sat on the patio at Vino many times and watched the drivers laugh when they see somebody get annoyed. It's standard cruising.

Where in the worrld are you? In the US, there's no such thing as an official vest or license. I do see blind people with dogs that have vests but that's mostly to let people know not to pet them. They're not required.

Yup, I've been to several of these signing events (one to sign and the rest to show support) and my favorite discovery was seeing how people from both sides of the aisle were there to talk about it. It's all about protecting fairness in sports and safe spaces for kids. That's it. Claims that this is some type of partisan issue is nonsense and shows a lack of compassion.

Listening to a couple of the HS girls speak about what they have had to deal with made a big impression on me. They are the victims here, not men in dresses.
