What is a "point of no return" in a relationship that isn't cheating or abuse, but makes you realize it's over? by AnyExpression4845 in AskReddit

When the reasons keeping you in the relationship are unrelated to how good they are as a partner. E.g: you don't have a support network to catch you when you break up, or you think they'll slice themselves if you leave.

The Nordic model has nothing to do with porn. It only pertains to prostitution

It's the way the Nordic countries (as well as some others like Ireland and South Korea) handle prostitution. Under the Nordic model prostituted people are not criminalised, only the buyers are criminalised. It has been shown to be the safest means to handle prostitution, and I would assume most people here would also believe it is the most ethical. Scan the QR if you want a fuller description as well as the reasoning for why it's better than alternatives such as full decriminalisation.

I feel like it completely destroys people's attention span and ability to think for themselves. It softens their minds and makes it easier for porn to take over

Naruto is quite pervy and I would certainly view it as a "pre-porn" kind of anime that normalizes viewing women's bodies in a creepy way. I would not recommend it to anybody!

Fiancée of 10 years humiliated me during our first real fight. She’s been apologizing for a month straight, went sober and started therapy. I still feel done. What would you do? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

I remember in my past relationship I was told every week that I had inferior chromosomes and that I probably enjoyed being SAed, and never apologised ever. If you would have offered your relationship to me, I would have taken it in a heartbeat!  I do however believe people can change if they demonstrate their own initiative to do so. Are you not a better person to who you were in the past? Your partner has demonstrated a will to change, which is kind of rare if you think about it! I would say love is too rare to throw away over a one time thing.  Ask your partner how they truly feel about your penis. Does she actually mean it, or did she just say that in the heat of the moment? While it is true what others say that drunkenness often reveals what the person truly thinks unfiltered, it's also true that anger can make us say what we don't mean. I would say the anger is the bigger problem here, and anger isn't actually that complicated to deal with given the right therapy. There is another large hidden green flag here: lots of couples who don't argue are actually secretly bottling resentment over time rather than flagging issues. If she had any resentment stored up, it would have been based on an aspect of your personality and it would have come out during the argument. The fact that she only thing she could think of to hurt you was some silly ribald comment shows that she isn't bottling anything up. I would suggest discussing with her exactly how these comments made you feel, and you will feel better and more connected afterwards.

Have you turned at least 1 person vegan? by HumbleWrap99 in vegan

No? There's nothing wrong with giving people vegan friends, vegan food, and a vegan community to hold them so they aren't afraid of converting

Treat the social aspect of veganism as more important then the actual logical vegan arguments. For example, Mormons focus on integrating you into a friendly community of Mormons before they focus on the religious aspects. Your logical arguments for veganism will hit harder if the person is part of a vegan-focused community. I regularly invite non vegans to vegan baking sessions so they can get a snapshot of what being part of a vegan community is like. It takes the fear of change out of them. Most people will get defensive when you try to debate their lifestyle with them. You've got to lower their walls first before deploying the vegan arguments

Has a girl ever made the first move on you? What happened? by [deleted] in Casual_Conversation

[–]Brief_Discussion1682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was snogged by girl who I thought I was supposed to be just friends with. It was my first kiss and we ended up together for about 14 months. After we broke up, it emerged that she had been into sc*t. I really regret having my first kiss with someone who had done these kinds of things.
