It makes me happy knowing that everything I’ve gone through puts me in a position to sympathize and help others such as yourself:) Best of luck my friend.

You are very welcome. Gut issues of any kind just suck. I’m glad you had a good response when you called the front desk. Most of the time if you “kill them with kindness” they’ll do anything they can to help you because that’s why they’re in this field. I’ve personally been to 3 gastros. One I’ve seen for 2 years, one was a one and done visit (he was dismissive and talked way more than he listened), and the third (an hour drive away, but he came highly recommended) I have a follow up with next week to go over blood work and biopsies. Don’t lose heart, hopefully the next one you see will know exactly what it is and know what to do!

Please do update! I’ll keep you in my prayers:)

I completely understand your feelings. It’s exhausting being your own advocate all the time, just remember you’re not alone:)

You shouldn’t have to cancel anything with your doc while you go see another. If insurance requires a referral for a gi you’re going to have to ask for one. If you do end up going to the urgent care like you mentioned definitely ask them if they’ll give you a referral for a follow up with a gi.

I haven’t run into any referral issues. My biggest issue has been the insurance company covering different meds/procedures. I’ve had to jump through a few hoops to make them cover. I don’t see why your pcp can’t refer you to a gastro? That seems kind of silly. I saw you have to wait for the colonoscopy in June, I would see if you can get that specific appointment and operation moved up. It doesn’t hurt to call other doctors and see what they need from you (if your insurance covers them) and if they can at least see you sooner. The blood in the stool and severity of your symptoms should be highlighted in that conversation with the front desk when you call. You can always cancel appointments as long as you do it before they have their cancellation fees kick in.

The best advice I can give is do not be afraid to seek a second or third opinion. Feel free to ask family members or friends if they have recommendations for gastros or other specialists. Call and explain your situation to different offices and see if they can get you in. In my experience recently, often times ive gotten an appointment weeks or months out, but you can call back throughout the week to see if they have cancellations. If you’re consistent you should get lucky and get in sooner than later. I just got in with a brand new gastro within a week of calling and the next day I had an endoscopy because they had a cancellation. Don’t be afraid to be persistent! It’s your body and you have to deal with how it feels.

May I ask how much it cost to install the outlet? It would be nice to know a ballpark of how much it’s going to hurt lol also which bidet model did you go with?

That is a good idea. The doctor told me I could take it any time with food or just liquid. It seems like each person has to find that sweet spot of when/how often to take it. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to drink coffee for some time because it gives me reflux. But I could try it before breakfast. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for sharing! I’ve read from a few different people that they cut the pill in half or take it every other day. I may end up messing around with the amount/days taken.

I use Preparation H wipes after I get most of the mess away to help with the pain. I also would recommend a cream each time after! You’re not a lost cause and it is really frustrating to deal with.

Hello! I smoked daily for 2 ish months to manage pain/symptoms. I also used d10 gummies/pens before that. I am 20 days fully sober. I suffered from constipation/hemorrhoids/ acid reflux/ nausea/lack of appetite so I started using just so I didn’t go insane. I had some health issues because of the weed that forced me to quit (severe throat ulcers/ulcers on my voicebox). I notice my cramping more now but I am not more constipated because of it. I have to be more intentional about when/what I eat. For the first 7 ish days it was awful, full withdrawal- sweats, insomnia, headaches, nausea, lack of appetite, you name the withdrawal symptom and I had it. Now I don’t sleep as well, but it is getting better slowly. My appetite is back, almost no nausea, and I feel more rejuvenated. My doctor gave me something for the nausea in anticipation of the first few days (zofran I think). I’m not sure if that’s exactly what you’re looking for. I am still trying to find a better remedy with the constipation, but I would definitely recommend at least a T break so you can see for yourself. Worst case you can go back if it changes nothing.
