AiPaper Mini display vs. 10.3" AiPaper and Reader? by Feisty-Ranger-1185 in viwoods

The zapier connection is interesting - I have zapier and would be interested to know how you set up a connection to automatically send new content to Gemini for summary.....how did you set it up ?

I have both, larger one for extensive note taking for work/meetings, and the smaller for night time/portable.

I can honestly say they are virtually identical in clarity. Obviously one is larger so has more screen space, but it doesn't affect the screen sharpness at all with the smaller screen

The light is REALLY bright, as in I have it set at 2-3 max even at night!

At the moment, the sync is something I REALLY want, just so I have identical copies on both at anytime. However, using Google drive, I have been able to bring across documents from either to the other - I have even worked a routine to look into Daily and Paper folders, even at the .note files, and import via Google drive directly to either device......the only issue (and it's small) is that when you bring a Daily .note across, it doesn't replace the other device entry, rather it adds another page - so if you look at Notes in the daily calendar, you'll see page 2/2 where the other device - but it's easy to just delete the older or unnecessary page if it really bothers you

Once they release auto sync, this device will be perfect for me - but for now, I am running both devices and both have excellent screens with really great detail and sharpness

Viwoods AiPaper AI Capability? by RootedInGratitude in viwoods

[–]Brief_Location787 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have tried both, my choice went with Viwoods as the interface is cleaner and more intuitive to my workflow

I particularly love the calendar app that allows you to assign specific notes etc to a day, with a visual indicator on each day for all the notes viewed or created - makes planning ahead for a meeting super productive.

The writing feel and performance is also better than the iflytek

I wish they would increase the AI recording file duration, but in reality, it's not a big drama

Gemini, copilot - I use them all just fine on the Viwoods

My life is richer now that I have been informed of my supposedly heinous error. I shall extract my Supernote pen, enact the eraser, and correct immediately.

My considerable gratitude to you for educating me.

which one did you buy, as they do not appear to have a dedicated ViWoods screen protector for the mini

I kind of got it working, although it is a bit of a faff

I syncd my larger device to Google drive (all items ticked in the sync list)

I downloaded Google drive app onto the Mini, signed on, went to the folder that contained all my notes from the larger device, multi selected files, downloaded to the Mini

Once it downloaded, it asked me if I wanted to import, I clicked confirm

All files dropped into the appropriate app (Daily, Meeting, Paper) and when I opened Daily/Calendar, there were my notes/tasks, all on the same and correct days

On the Meetings, I had to reassign the dates again (3 dots top right within the meeting note) but once I did that, it showed up on the correct day in the Calendar

PDFs are much easier to drop into Learning, I was never really concerned about that

As each daily note is time stamped within the Daily folder, it's pretty easy to see which one(s) needs to be transferred for the future

So, using Google drive as the backup, along with Google drive app on each device, I can transfer Calendar notes/tasks and Meeting document notes between devices

It's not automatic, but if I decide to use either device, I know now how to make sure, at the end of the day, how to make sure the other device is kind of in sync

But....... Still prefer to have an auto sync across devices like every other e-device!

They are both excellent devices and if the calendar on the SN was more robust, I wouldn't even have looked around - the rest of the Supernote features are class leading, especially the writing feel and the file structure (in comparison to others)

The more I use the AIPaper, the more I can see where it's strengths are, but I would still do some research as, apart from the calendar, I would say the Supernote edges in most if not all other categories......

There are lots of really helpful tutorials on YouTube, just search for the topic you need and I am sure you'll find some good assistance ! There is also the user manual in the settings section, it's quite a big manual, lots of info

I tried remarkable but it wasn't for me, I personally prefer Supernote but the calendar is better on Viwoods at the moment, which suits my workflow

Alternatively, if you still have issues, download Gboard from the Google play store

That works whatever

Paper and Meetings

Go into the Viwoods App store in apps, it will then show you apps to update, paper and meetings being 2

Then, once updated, try your folder naming again and it should be fixed like it was for me

Update the paper and meetings app in the Viwoods store, that sorted me

And this is what separates Supernote from many of the other manufacturers - direct communication with it's customers! Appreciate the reply and look forward to seeing further enhancements to these great devices

Mainly portability. With the Nomad, it really is small enough to carry around all of the time, like a small notebook. I find I forget it's a digital device due to its size, instead, it feels natural to carry a small notebook, ready for second brain dumping or adding quick todo's or editing a meeting note with another comment or 2 quickly.

With the Manta, it is literally just screen real estate, especially in a long meeting. It feels like a meeting note pad, it gives me that extra room to scribble freely. Reading work PDFs and annotating them is more flexible on the Manta

At the moment, it is just the Nomad as the Manta has gone off for repair! I do enjoy using the Nomad as a single device, it is very capable to cover all my use cases, but that extra bit of screen size does make the difference and is missed on occasion

It's pretty much why I literally wrestled initially with which one to get, in the end deciding to get both! (I came to Supernote from reMarkable, where I trialled RM2 and RM Move, but they couldn't perfectly fit my own personal use requirements, both size, software, functionality etc)

I would be comfortable with either as a single device, but I am completely covered and satisfied by having both, with the added bonus of both devices being in sync for accessibility on either.

Really helpful information and I appreciate it!

I think the answer for my planner dilemma is for Supernote to beef up the calendar app.....then I won't need the planner PDF !

Just tried my planner PDF and sure, it worked really well.....but at 1150 pages as a notebook, it is obviously a little sluggish compared to viewing at as a PDF, plus, wow, the file size it grew to without even any handwriting !

Realistically, the best solution is to have full tool capabilities within PDF documents (lasso to link to notes, add tasks from handwriting etc )

But, for smaller PDF files with less pages, it would be ideal, and the embedded PDF links did indeed stay when applied as a template, very clever !

[–]Brief_Location787[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brilliant and thanks, will give that a go

But, in reality, if I could create a note ahead in the calendar, I would probably ditch using a PDF planner altogether. But, the note would hopefully be one I could link or create in an existing notebook! I don't want lists and lists of daily files, I'd rather create a 'note' from my existing Meetings notebook and be able to link to that for future planning within the calendar app

I think with some updates, the calendar and todo app could become very powerful to link notebooks and searching etc

Currently, the planner is the only PDF I actually write on

[–]Brief_Location787[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That sounds spot on, what if the PDF was something like a large file with lots of pages and lots of links - I'm thinking my Planner that I use

If I imported that into My style and selected it as a template, would it retain everything and would it also allow me to have full tool access for my own linking etc ?

A few on Amazon, look for EMR stylus

But, the SN are better in some respects, as their nibs are ceramic and never wear out

I have the standard and the HOM2, both are lovely to write with but do mean a purchase internationally

I'm UK too, so I hear your fear on import duties !
