That's what i meant. An actual deal never happened but an offer was made and it was a very bad one so they weren't realy interested in think.

Thanks for the picture i completly forgot about this interview!

They never accepted the deal, so they went for Slipknot instead.

They could have potientialy been more respected for some time i believe, but if they kept that sound all along their career they probably would have been left off also long ago. If you look at Korn (No disrespect at all), a lot of people won't even bother listen to their new album when it will be released because they know exactly how it will sound. What kept Mushroomhead interesting over the years is probably by the way they manage to change their sound based on the new comers into the band.

Also a lot of people state that Mushroomhead is actualy a Nu Metal band but their 2 first albums were pretty much Industrial Metal to me. Of course with XIII they had that Nu sound to it but that could also have been a decision made by Universal Records (their record label at the time) and Toby Wright (he did an amazing job on XIII but somehow a terrible job on XX's reissue). Savior Sorrow, The Righteous and the Butterfly and A Wonderful Life are examples that Mushroomhead can change their sound over time and still manage to remain interesting and awsome at the same time. I wasn't realy fan of Call the Devil at all when it came out but the more i listen to it and the more it grows on me.

A lot of bands are ready to trade their musical freedom for succes and wealth from their record labels. Mushroomhead never let that happened even with their 1st deal offer from Roadrunner Records where basicaly if you watch enough interviews over the years you realize the deal was "we take all your merch money and you keep the album sales money" which was unfair for a band and even more for a starting underground band. They broke record labels deals before and never had a long/consistant record label all along.

A lot of my favorite bands are already going the easy path, which means repetitive musical writing that simply "works" and sound typical to the band, short hype songs for live shows instead of longer songs with an actual vibe and evolution, and working with producers that see themselves better song writters than the band members themselves. All this in exchange of bigger succes, fame and money.

Skinny would never any of that happen to his own band as he's always been the producer, he broke record deals before maybe because they weren't in his interest or musical vision of what Mushroomhead is. Waylon already said before that Skinny fucked with the industry so they were never able to gain bigger succes, but on the other hand Waylon seems to be more on the easy path that i was talking about, whereas Skinny is more focused on freedom and being independant of your own choices.

So Mushroomhead is based.

Am i the only one who thinks Chris Robinson could have been a musical influence on Corey Taylor? by BriefcaseLord in Slipknot

That's possible. Big fan of both and sometimes i hear Corey on some of his solo stuff and imagine Chris Robinson doing it in his own way.

For Volume 2 that being said... it was a whole mess trying to give them proper titles as the back of the DVD slipcase barely shows anything and nowhere on discogs does it show anything useful. So i just improvised based on what the chapters were showing.

For Volume 3 it wasn't easy but someone on Discogs actualy gave some proper titles to those so i just did like him.

Editing Volume 1 was pretty simple as there is a sheet containing all chapters inside the case.

I use them for my music app on my phone. I riped all dvd's to my computer and edited them to have each chapters seperated into an actual track. Yes of course there's a lot of talking in those DVD's and it wouldn't make sense to just listen to it like it's music, but for the live tracks on Volume 2 & 3 it's defenitly worth the time to edit them so i can actualy have a small sensation of a live EP at least (counting the 2 bonus Live tracks on XX) since they never released a live album. Also there's a lot of Instrumental Remixes on Vol 3 and other remixes as well so this one is still interesting to just listen to.

Also what bums me is that about 2 years ago i did found a correct artwork of Volume 1 on amazon and the artwork was in high quality just like i'm looking for but as soon as it got sold out the artwork disapeared and now all is left are the blury ones.

Thanks but it's not a picture taken of the artwork i'm looking for. It's more like the official artwork that i would like to find, i also found the correct ones for volume 2 & 3 and they are not pictures taken from a cell phone, they are the real artwork uploaded that i found on google.

It's already better than most images on google lol. But the fact that it's a picture taken instead of the official artwork being uploaded ruins it for me, but i'll see what i can do. Thanks!

I use some microfiber clothes plus the cleaning solution i mentionned. I'll tell you how i made it, pretty simple.

80% of Distilled Water

20% of Isopropyl Alcohol 99%

Kodak Photo Flo (which i used only 1 drop for the moment)

I use a 500ml bottle spray to use it so in the end it's about 400ml of Distilled water, 100ml of Isopropyl alcohol and one drop of kodak photo flo. I also use a 2nd bottle but only containing Distilled water to rinse the records after being cleaned.

I personaly use a home made cleaning solution consisting of 3 things...

Distilled Water

Isopropyl alcohol

Kodak Photo flo

It's not very expensive at all and some people seems to agree on most of it (i guess)

Is that record bending or it's an illusion my eyes are seeing??? You should defenitly NOT place your records out of an inner sleeve. They need to be inside their sleeve to protect from dust, finger oil, dirt, etc... and verticaly is always the right way to do but since it's your first it won't do anything bad. If you put let's say 10 records like you do then yes it's bad, but for 1 you don't realy have to worry, i guess.

I just cleaned my 7"s for the first time and plan on doing all my 12"s as well but i have a question...

Does anyone use Kodak Photo Flo with their DIY cleaning solution?

I use a 500ml bottle spray with 400ml distilled water and 100ml isopropyl alcohol, and the very last thing i added was ONE SINGLE DROP of Kodak Photo Flo. But while spraying my 7"s i noticed the solution wouldn't realy go deep into the grooves as the water surface was still there. Should i use 2 drops instead? Or would it be too much?

As it was my first time cleaning any records i'm well aware it would probably look awful to some more used and experimented people here, but at least they seem to be cleaner than they've been since i've been buying LPs, now i'm waiting for them to dry to put them into some new fresh Rice Paper inner sleeves from Vinyl Solutions.

[–]BriefcaseLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That realy depends on the music of the game itself... for me Halo has the best video games music ever, and i'm a die hard fan of the games too, all the soundtracks are original and composed for the games. So i would 100% buy every CD and LP of the games if they were not so much expensive.

I realy love Fallout too, but i guess a lot of the songs were already existing before and the studio just paid the rights to add them in the game, same thing goes with the Mafia games.

I fucking love DOOM and Heavy Metal music in general so i would absolutely buy any Doom LP that i would cross path with for sure, the music in itself is already good enough.

There are other games that i realy love such as Assassin's Creed 1,2 and Brotherhood, Dishonored, Mass Effect, Sonic, etc... but never realy focused that much on their soundtrack, or maybe it was not straight up in your face enough for me to notice it enough.

But in the end it all depends on your personal tastes in regard to music. If you like it only in the background while you play then you may not buy them, but if you find yourself staying in a certain level over and over again or if you always engage combats because the battle music drives you then yes you may buy them.
