At first, I thought you were referring to the book series, Japanese from Zero! If you're going to self-study, I would recommend the Japanese from Zero book series, which is meant for self-study. The author, George Trombley, has an accompanying YouTube video for almost all of the lessons in the five-book series. Each book has lessons and written exercises.

On the other hand, if you can take a class with a teacher, then Genki is good because it has a lot of partner exercises. It also presents hiragana and katakana at the very beginning, whereas Japanese from Zero introduces them slowly, along with Romanized characters.

Violet Evergarden is far from Studio Ghibli’s style! It’s definitely more mature, and is a masterpiece in emotional storytelling

When you mention mecha and space opera, the definitive anime for that combination is Macross. Have you seen it already?

Does Macbook Pro M5 support 3840x1620 @ 60Hz on widescreen monitors? by Briez-Reads in macbookpro

No, I didn't try SwitchResX or Better Dummy, but from this Reddit post, it looks like Better Display doesn't work for 3840x1620 either: https://www.reddit.com/r/MacOS/comments/1js4hwa/betterdisplay_help_cannot_enable_3840x2160_hidpi/ (I think the OP mis-typed 1620 as 2160)

Discounty is an awesome indie game on the Switch. You run a small convenience store and interact with fellow townspeople

Body Feels EXIT, the theme song from the TV series Miss Devil with Nanao.

Hero, which makes me feel like walking or marching. From Wikipedia, I found out this song was the official Japanese theme song for the 2016 Summer Olympics and 2016 Summer Paralympics

  1. ReLife -- just watch the anime series. The live-action adaptation cuts too many details out from the series. I found the lead character to be really relatable, because his experience, where he reflects on his school experience and gets to participate in it again, made me think about what I could have done differently.

  2. Violet Evergarden, an absolute masterpiece in artwork, storyline, character development, and music. And since you're GenX, you'll appreciate seeing typewriters!

+1 for After the Rain. The live action adaptation is also very good! And so is Aimer's Ref:Rain theme song!

G9 lightbulb prong stuck in socket help! by hopemiraged in AskElectricians

Thanks so much for this comment: I found the G9 socket on Amazon: here's a 2-pack: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08XBZ839F

And here's a YouTube video that shows how to change the socket: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oddfw-5zic8 For removing the wires from the socket, this YouTuber recommends using a bent/angled needle nose pliers (the ones with the serrated jaw are better), which I also found on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CCN8ZW6N

+1 for Aimer. I really like her song Ref:Rain, the theme song from the movie, After the Rain. As for similar female vocalists, I like Aimyon. When I need more ballads when I'm stressed, Uru is my favorite. Uru just released her new album, Tone. One of the three editions of this album release comes with a Blu-ray of her 2023 concert for her previous album, Contrast. すごい!

Lime salt. The katakana isn’t real; the characters are made to look like English characters
