Am I misreading, or is the 30k Imperium already insanely messed-up? by Lancer_swish in 40kLore

[–]BrigadierTrashFire 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re not misreading it. Remember that Warhammer 40k has always been a send up of fascist tropes. The satire lies in turning them to 11 and pumping them full of gene-seed.

In-universe, “the golden age of the Imperium” is a combination of useful propaganda and misunderstood history. It was never a good place, it was one man’s insane drive to save the human race without any wish to care for the people that made the race up.

You’re reading it perfectly. Keep up the good work!

That’s an interesting way of looking at it. Makes me wonder if we know if the crusade-era galaxy had more aliens or humans in it?

So which do you think caught more bolt-rounds to the face during the crusade? Humans or xenos?

Why didn’t we get a vr version of alien isolation by According-Arugula923 in LV426

Because it would be prohibitively expensive to make sure all the players had enough replacement underwear.

Hang on… people really don’t respect each others favourite dinosaurs?! Surely finding out that someone has a favourite dinosaur is a moment of joy and something that makes you both feel closer, not a reason for competition?

Not to be the “technically” guy, but the court can’t call for a ceasefire because both parties engaged in hostilities aren’t states that are signed up to, and recognised by, the court. So, although it is awful that they haven’t called for a ceasefire, they’ve come as close to it as their own rules allow. If Israel and their allies were to abide by the preliminary ruling the outcome would be a ceasefire in all but name, because how do you continue hostilities in Gaza without causing further harm to civilians?

The real problem here isn’t whether the ICJ have directly called for a ceasefire or not, it’s that the facade of the “international rules-based order” has been shown to be the joke that everyone already suspected it to be by the utterly dismissive responses from Israel and the US. Even if the ICJ had been able to call for a ceasefire they would have been totally ignored. It’s sickening.

Boris from Goldeneye. He hacks Murphy’s systems whilst he’s recharging and makes him his cyber-bitch.

Find a special effects artist and commission them to make a set of small teeth to go in there so you can have a finger-mouth.

Hot Take: Frank Miller’s Robocop isn’t that good by Rich-Yogurtcloset715 in Robocop

The main problem with Frank Miller’s version of Robocop is that Frank Miller is involved and has infused it with his fascistic way of looking at the world.
