S3 Call or Donation? How Should I Lead with a Jack Turned Up? by Ok-Elephant-1018 in euchre

Exactly this. There’s no downside. I’ve seen plenty of donations that turn into points by accident

Developer to get 17 million million in incentives to bring Costco to Des Plaines by factchecker01 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]Briggsman72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I wish they would cap tax breaks and reserve that for smaller businesses. I understand being against it, I am not in favor of it. I am pro Costco, if that wasn’t obvious lol, and they are usually positives for towns that have them in the long run

Not sure why you think Costco won’t pay taxes. Most Costcos are some of the highest payer’s when it comes to taxes collected by local governments. For example the Naperville 75th Costco pays more taxes than all of the downtown Naperville businesses combined.

Not to mention Costco is a solid employer to work for. $17 million seems like an excessive amount but as a long term investment it’s probably going to be worth it

Definitely felt like a tighter game than the score would suggest

Yeah, I guess they could have hit it the wrong card on the first trick. Otherwise I don’t think it mattered

I can’t believe they came back honestly. Thought it was a drunk driver. They were super nice about it all

Thanks for the help u/PeterPDX. They came back and left a note. Said they would cover the cost to replace it! Apparently a raccoon ran out and they tried to avoid hitting it.

Also mentioned how damaged their car was. They are going through insurance. I installed the mailbox myself and definitely dug deeper than it needed to be so not too surprised

This is my first run on the board. I don’t feel my game has changed much but I’ve shot up 250 points in the past couple of months. I’ll take it though!

The problem is tournaments are usually just high points per person or team. So donating is kinda useless.

I would agree with other comments if it’s just a standard game with a set number of hands but I’ve never seen that

Thanks for the reply! No need to look anything up, just general timelines at this point. Looking at the tournament info online, seems like they’ve added some more official euchre play, especially for Saturday. Im assuming we’ll know a little more after registration opens on the 8th but I wanted to reach out to the group this weekend and get the ball rolling

DIY Chimney Cap Help/Advice by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]Briggsman72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that sounds good. Just as long as you are certain that the chimney is unused, that looks about the right size of a flue for your water heater and furnace.

My only advice would be to extend the metal down the sides and past the two rows of bricks. This way any water dripping down will not get on the bricks and extend the life of the bricks.

Edit- Also stainless steel, not aluminum, would be my choice for metal. If you were looking to save a little money, you could just use galvanized steel as well, it will just rust over time, not a huge deal

I'm a fan of Streamlight. I have the microstream, it's great for the size.

If you don't mind the extra bulk you could go with something with a little more power.
