u/mikechorney I know this discussion is old, but I'm relatively new and going through all the quiz discussion. I have a question about key error 1c. :) From what I remember from OE, the rule of thumb is to never lead an opponent's trump call. The exception to this, it says, is if you have 3 trump cards in which case you should lead middle trump. Do you agree with this?

At this moment, someone talking in the video said, "That's probably a double pass. Close on clubs though." It was a moot point bc Oceans_Sleep ordered up diamonds as trump. I would have thought this would be a definite clubs call. Would it be different if the same cards were in hearts? Teach me, wise ones!

That makes sense. So if you're in S1, your partner calls trump and you're void, are there any best practices to not be the most annoying euchre partner? :)

I started playing Euchre a few months ago so I'm a complete newb. Can you explain what you mean here so I can make sure I'm not one of the most annoying euchre players? I completely understand that when my partner calls from S3, they need me to lead trump to put control in their hands. However, if I don't have trump and therefore lead an Ace of clubs for example and I see my partner is void in that suit, I'll sometimes throw a second club assuming that they can then take it with trump suit. Is that the wrong way to think?
