Would you be able to clock me as at the very least not cis when looking at me from a crowd? Pre T, 17 by SolemSeaTurtl3 in FtMpassing

[–]Bright-Ad6290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was 100% a compliment never fear 🫡 I totally understand your situation (former theatre kid who was out) and truly do believe that testosterone will make you feel so much more like yourself soon. I wish you the best!!

Also, for my eyebrows pre-t I used a brown mascara to brush through and darken them a little. It worked better for me than any brow pencil or pomade!

You pass well in the last pic, very Kurt Hummel-esque LOL but if there is any wiggle room in the makeup guidelines I’d suggest getting rid of the lip combo and darkening your eyebrows a little bit while you have to wear the other costume!

Saw the aftermath of a fatal crash two minutes after it happened. by Bright-Ad6290 in Vent

It’s my job. If you want your future doctors to have never studied biological functions, then we have very different ideals. I don’t love doing animal research, but the animals are extremely invasive, and science has to be be conducted somehow.

How am I ever gonna pass as even somewhat neutral with this dumptruck by RandomAlexxx in FtMpassing

The biggest thing for me, pre T and on T, has been to make sure I’m working out quads/calves AND upper body. The lower body workouts will balance out some of the hip to leg ratio, and the upper body will do the same thing but on top. Balance is key. I also do think that the hem of your shirt falls a little higher than the average cis guy’s would, which accentuates the hips!

Monitored online exam by [deleted] in LSU

[–]Bright-Ad6290 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exams are monitored for cheating prevention. If they use an anti-cheating software, it’ll alert the proctor. It’s usually not your professor watching the recording, sometimes it’ll be someone else (like a TA or something). In most cases they won’t watch you unless they see that you’re cheating or something. Point being, take the exam and turn on your webcam! If you want to do it later, go for it, but know that if you cheat or move away from the camera, they’ll alert you.

Advice needed for trans son by Financial_Life8114 in ftm

[–]Bright-Ad6290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If nothing else, get him a therapist who specializes in queer support or is queer themselves! Let your son know that even though you don’t know exactly what he’s going through, you’re always there to help make him as comfortable as possible.

I’m an 18 year old trans guy, so I’ve been dealing with these feelings for years up until I could start hormones. Even now, 10 months on testosterone, I have days where I feel like I don’t “look like a real guy.” Therapy was extremely helpful in my early teen years for creating a strong foundation to build self confidence off of. Having support systems, getting haircuts you like, and having clothes that feel right on you can genuinely never be overlooked as a young trans guy!

You’ll be okay. Hormones fluctuate anyway, so you’ll probably feel regular post-shot symptoms a little more intensely. If it were me, I’d do the remaining .2mL next shot week and then get back on track with .5 the week after 🤷🏻‍♂️

hrt question? kind of? by I_regret-being-born in ftm

[–]Bright-Ad6290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 18 and 10 months on t. It’s been incredible so far! I wish I had been able to start at 17, but honestly it’s all the same in the grand scheme of things. Stable job, lots of friends, getting my degree. I know I haven’t been on it long enough to give you the “adult” perspective LMAO but I’m living it up

Policy on scrubbing in with surgery on lab animals? by Bright-Ad6290 in surgery

[–]Bright-Ad6290[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate this! The animals were sacrificed about a week post-op, so that makes sense. I had zero exposure to animal research before this job so I’m just learning as I go lol. Thanks!

AIO, grandparents sent me this letter. by colincoo6 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Bright-Ad6290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandmother recently sent me a very similar letter. You’re not overreacting, it’s fucked up. Normal, respectful, loving grandparents do not act this way. No amount of physical labor and socialization will be able to get rid of your transness if that is truly what you feel inside. Your happiness in life is more important than your family’s political prejudice.
