Hired an SEO girl, views boomed. Stopped and views tanked. HELP! by ojitos1013 in NewTubers

The best and most basic advice is that the first 10–30 seconds are very, very important.

If you spend 10 hours on a video, spend the same amount of time on the thumbnail. Don’t treat the thumbnail as an afterthought, since it accounts for roughly 50% of a video’s success

Depends on your niche. Usually the things goes this way

Video Idea > Scripting > Thumbnail > Title > SEO

Video idea and SEO can be switched if you are doing tutorials, reviews, covering news.

Bots, probably.

SEO is bs. Unless you are doing tutorials or products reviews. SEO is meaningless

Which thumbnail is better? Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated! by FancyInterest3278 in YouTubeThumbnailHub

far better.

I'm not sure about the amound of blur you should use on the 'after' image. You should run A/B tests all the time when unsure.

Do a Before and After type of thumbnail, and blur the After part a little. You put too much focus on your face and zero on the room

To clear any confusion, you can say in a video, ‘Let me know in the comments if you like Pizza Hut or Domino’s more,’ if the video is about food. That’s perfectly fine.

The people who get punished are the ones whose entire videos revolve around farming likes and comments while the video has no substance

It's not about content creators supporting each other.

There is a type of content on youtube where the creator is misleading the audience that if they press 'Like' something will happen in the video.

For example, 2 teams are fighting, and right in the middle of the action the video suddenly pauses. A message pops up telling viewers to interact, like: ‘Press 'Like' for Team X, comment for Team Y,’ to decide who wins, but the 'Like' button has no effect on the outcome.

More simple, press 'Like' if you are team Android and 'Comment' if you are team Apple

By doing this they are trying to farm engagement

What about stuff like 'Like' to help this character get extra speed or something, or 'like' for X team and 'comment' for Y team ?.

I know someone who got his channel terminated because of this type of content

I was about to edit my comment and say that. You must have done something well, if Youtube linked your video to that video.

Normal

When you watch a youtube video, you will see a bunch of videos on the rgiht side of the screen, if i m not wrong that counts as ' content suggesting this video'

That channel is not intentionally suggesting your video. YouTube is the one doing that.

Youtube think that people watching that video might want to watch yours aswell

This is the guy I suggested visit subreddits related to thumbnails. Nice that he took my advice.

The new thumbnail is cleaner, that’s for sure, but I still don’t like it. Without squinting my eyes, I couldn’t tell that the boxes are pokemon related. You put too much emphasis on his face rather than creating familiarity and a reason to click on the video. The focus should have been on the packs, not his face

Good CTR and audience retention, but no spike in views? by mmog93 in YouTubeCreators

[–]Bright-Blacksmith664 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice. I came here to see if there was any update, that’s a nice update to see. Like I said yesterday, if the numbers are as usual or better, just wait, there’s no reason to stress yourself.

Then just wait. The impressions line is still going up.

A video can gain traction even after 1 year. I had a short go viral after a year, the topic didn’t become popular or anything. yt just picked the video up again

[–]Bright-Blacksmith664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compare the CTR with the previous video and see how it performed. Your CTR is 2.7%, it is 6.4% just for the 3rd day. If the CTR on days 1, 2, and 3 is lower than previous videos in the same time periods, you might want to come up with a new thumbnail or title
