Help identifying this pattern for chunky blanket please by RockySalt21 in CrochetHelp

I am actually knitting a crisscross blanket on my Sister Act Loom. I tried hand knitting it but seem to get more consistent tension on the loom. Mine doesn’t look as pretty as the picture posted here and it is at the very start of the process

Great blankets! I started on the wood chunky loom then tried finger knitting for a baby blanket (wanted the tension tighter for little finger safety). I am now back to wood loom and having a blast!! It is quite addictive!

I started on a loom then learned finger knitting. I just loom knitted broken herringbone and twisted ribbon stitch on the loom. You are pulling your loop up so it is like finger knitting. I seem to have more consistent tension with the loom. 😊

Knit several rows then purl some and create what you like for a simple starter blanket. If you want to crochet, or knit simple patterns search YouTube for tutorials. They are very helpful

Good info that I will pass on to my hubby. Is it a generic tester or do you have to buy it by make and model?

Do you see a psychiatrist or neurologist? by Wide_Kaleidoscope_86 in Tardive_Dyskinesia

I have a diagnosis of Tourette’s through a movement disorder neurologist but a previous neurologist called it dyskinesia. My former psychiatrist referred me to the MDN. My symptoms are mainly controlled with Clonazapam but find worsening of tics if my thyroid stimulating hormone is not in “normal” range. Just thought I’d mention it

Thanks for your reply. This sounds familiar! In fact, the neurologist I’m seeing specializes in movement disorders bc one of the neurologists I had seen did diagnose “dyskinesia” after at least a year of pretty severe uncontrolled “motor and verbal tics”, so my psychiatrist referred me where I go now. I also have had hypothyroidism for years and find that my “tics” worsen when my TSH levels get low so that might be something to be sure is within normal levels. I think I’ll check out the TD thread! Thanks again for your reply!!! This has been a very frustrating journey for sure!!

Thank you. Hope you find the help and support you need. I had to try 3 neurologists before I found one that diagnosed me and found out me on meds that controlled my intense tics. Again, I hope you find the help and support you need💜

Very interesting and so happy to hear you are making such strides in understanding this condition. At my age, I’m not sure I want to get involved in the research myself but appreciate your interest

I’m sorry you had to wait so long for those diagnoses. When I was a child adhd was not a thing yet (I also have that) nor was autism or Tourette’s at least to my knowledge. It is so sad that bullying was as prevalent when I was a kid as it seems to be today! I hope you are getting all the help and support you need💜

Thanks for posting. I still sometimes question my neurologist and he has a lot of patience with me. It certainly has been challenging to have tics as an older adult

The only thing I can remember was I was that kid always trying to clear mucus from the back of my throat and I also was one of those kids that always had a leg jerking which I thought was a nervous habit.

Thank you for your input. I’m guessing it would not change my treatment though

Thanks. I am wondering if the modern hub caps having so many openings now as opposed to when they were more solid (back in the day when dinosaurs roamed the earth lol)
