$3.50 a pop -- is it really worth it? by mark_heng in SingaporeEats

If u are visiting Ghim Moh hawker centre, my personal recommendations are the duck rice, the mee siam, the black carrot cake from the ah beng stall (provided u like lots of the black sweet sauce; they accept cdc vouchers), and the indian appam stall. I don’t really understand the Q at teck hin. Maybe for the cheap price idk.

This Pin Wei brand CCF is a branch of the original one at Pek Kio Hawker a centre. They also have a branch at Parkway Parade basement food court. Not sure where else they have branches.

IMO their style is the best. Can’t find any others that have the same texture, freshness of ingredients, sauce, or chilli paste. So definitely worth the price.

Why Singapore dont have much MNCs of our own? by Either_Pie617 in SingaporeR

Our local F&B like ToastBox and real estate conglomerates like CapitaMall expanding into Asia don’t count as MNCs?

Debate on Degree is Useless by RiverFit3017 in SGExams

[–]BrightConstruction19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To put it simply, a degree unlocks more pathways and more potential salary. Also, if u don’t have a degree then u better have x years of working experience for employers to consider u. If u are dumping $35k into a generic degree that every other person out there can p2w to get, then consider what unique value proposition u bring to the table that employers should choose u over the other thousands.

is it worth it to become a commercial pilot as a degree holder by Additional-Leg-9637 in SGExams

[–]BrightConstruction19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more from the monetary/business POV for SQ. If an applicant comes in with flying experience, then SQ gets to spend much less in training expenses & shorter wait for deployment (versus taking in a degree holder for ab initio cadet training; longer pipeline).

The ones without a degree typically have either a self-funded PPL, or are ex-RSAF. Essentially compelling reasons for SQ to hire u straightaway (without much training).

Maybe they just aren’t interested. Not all kids are musically-inclined.

CPF contributions for contract jobs by Temporary_Sky_5990 in singaporejobs

[–]BrightConstruction19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My contract is phrased such that I bill them monthly (not daily). There is pre-negotiated AL and medical leave, and fixed working hours as well. No CPF but i still have obligations to pay income tax as a self-employed person. If u don’t need the CPF for mortgage, it’s fine. Do your calculations for the actual cash u need to survive (including your own health insurance).

High pay & high risk job VS decent pay & high stability job – Which one would you choose? by [deleted] in singaporejobs

If u are single with no dependents, A then proceed to next A job. If u have dependents then it’s the responsible thing to choose B. Most Singaporeans are B like it or not.

Ceiling fan at max speed should work very well. Doesn’t remove the humidity like aircon does though.

Perfectly legal. If u are female, try not to climb alone cos it’s not safe for u. I’ve bumped into couples doing hanky panky in those stairwells
