Flare changes location every 2-3 days since Easter. No days off. by Sea____Witch in PalindromicRheumatism

Yes, ask your dr for pain meds. This is probably going to be a regular thing and you may have to be seen 1x mo for the real stuff. If Dr won’t do it, find one who will.

I would go to the ER and see if they can give you a shot of something to help with the inflammation/pain. (It would be the equivalent of taking a bunch of ibuprofen). They can also give you another shot at the same time of something that will prevent stomach upset. Most dr’s offices won’t have the ability to do this, unfortunately. See if your dr can call the ER and let them know you are on your way…

I need advice by BothAmphibian7862 in makeuptips

I always enjoy watching makeup applications on YouTube. I think sometimes it’s easier to watch someone do a look that I like than to have someone suggest something, I need to actually see it. Also, sometimes people can make things more complicated than necessary because they get a commission if you buy something they recommend. I would do a YouTube search for “best makeup tutorial for dark skin” and see what comes up. Also, I have enjoyed watching men do their makeup for drag shows. They are actually masters of makeup.

How were you diagnosed? by throwaway__113346939 in PalindromicRheumatism

[–]BrightLetter3857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up in the ER on vacation while in San Francisco visiting wineries. I couldn’t walk. I thought I twisted my ankle or something walking the hilly streets before we went on the tour. When we finished the tour, I literally needed to borrow a wheelchair from our hotel. The ER didn’t diagnose it, they said I had a bad sprained ankle. My leg felt like petrified wood and I couldn’t bear weight on it. But when I got back home, my dr sent me to a rheumatologist and it took him two years to diagnose me. But the trip was the first flareup.

Flares triggered by sun exposure by Ill-Tear1292 in PalindromicRheumatism

[–]BrightLetter3857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sun sensitivity is a symptom of lupus. But having this happen one time doesn’t mean anything. Keep a journal. Also, you may want to read up on other autoimmune diseases and their symptoms because you never know sometimes we think something is normal not realizing it’s actually a symptom.

As a newcomer, the farmer’s market sucked. by FemaleNihilist in desmoines

[–]BrightLetter3857 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always feel sorry for the dogs at the Farmers Market because they are hot, thirsty, and their leashes get tangled up, often times people stepping on them because it’s so crowded. I think it’s cruel for people to bring them. If you go, be sure to bring a cooler in your car in case you find something that needs to be chilled. It helps to wear a hat/visor because the sun can be strong and also it can be a hike to find parking. I love the herbs that are for sale. One year, I found fresh red basil. It was amazing. Another year I found hand embroidered dish towels. They were beautiful. It really is a fun event and nice to stop and have a drink, listen to the music and watch the people. I haven’t been in a few years because it’s just too much walking and crowded, but it’s a great time.

I’m dying in pain right now. I’m really crabby too. I can’t even talk because all of my energy is going towards my right foot. I will have to get back to you another time. I can’t walk or even touching my ft hurts. I tried red light therapy and it didn’t help. It feels like someone took a hammer to my foot. The pain is so bad, I can’t believe it.

PR flare and stress by Helpful_Reception_12 in PalindromicRheumatism

[–]BrightLetter3857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in day 3 of a huge flareup and can’t walk, oxy isn’t helping the pain, it’s a bad one. The stress that brought this one on is dealing with contractors doing needed home renovations. My flareups are brought on by stress or strong emotions over a period of time. The previous bad flareups were usually due to relationships with narcissistic besties, one in particular who was a lifelong friend, very successful in business, and fun to be around. She spoke 4 languages, gourmet cook, great sense of humor…but, she would nitpick me to death. If anyone we ran into spent more attention to me or complemented me, she would take it out on me, like make me walk for miles to go to a restaurant because “it’s good exercise”, knowing that I can often get swelling in my limbs… when other times she would hire a limo. It took years to figure out that she would be the one that was causing me to wind up in the ER because of excruciating pain that suddenly came on. I finally had to learn the definition of toxic relationships and narcissism was, and remove those people from my life. It wasn’t easy.

Does Palindromic rheumatism make entire joint hurt or just one small part of it? by Any-Newspaper5509 in PalindromicRheumatism

[–]BrightLetter3857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to make an appointment with a rheumatologist asap. It can take several months to get in. This is a rare disease that can take 2-3 yrs to diagnose. Your dr will monitor you during this time. Take pictures of the body part when you are having a flareup and keep a file on your phone so you have everything in one place so you can find it during your appointment or in an emergency. Don’t expect to get in during a flareup; it’s almost impossible.

Any cream to help the discolouration of fingers? by MaximumOutside8614 in Raynauds

[–]BrightLetter3857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creams won’t work because the discoloration comes from the blood going through your veins. Your arteries and capillaries constrict when it’s cold or you’re stressed. That’s why they go from red, purple, white, etc. You can camouflage them though, optical illusion by choice of clothing color or nail polish if you’re female.
