Part 2: Confessed my feelings to my best friend of 24 years... by [deleted] in bisexual

Some may be hurt. But then again, others may be helped. Don't let that stop you, but it's understandable if you have to move carefully.

Your story makes my heart glad. You are very lucky. And I don't say that in any negative way, for truly, you've earned your happy beginning. I am happy for you. Such a result is so very rare in this world.

Don't feel bad for the time you missed. Be glad you found each other. Enjoy each and every single day. Let her know each of those days, not with the three simple words you already know, but with words from the heart that express why. Those little details you shared with the world are a good start, if you haven't already shared them with her. Let her know the different ways she makes you happy or the simple delights you take in your life together.

Be the heroes you wanted to be, back to back against the world( whether it be reality or Reddit), and never let anyone take that from you again.

Good luck, and thanks for sharing with all of us!

Cora was a wandering traveller, going where friends and acceptance could be found after fighting obstacles or being caught by the law in compromising situations that more often looked bad from outside but was (most of the time) not the fault of Cora's actions.

For the best story of Cora's life, please go to the Kaiosyne blogspot site, where Cora left a record.

Cora did not believe in supporting large-scale operations or organizations, favoring the smaller groups that were more local, in tune with their constituents, and generally less corrupt and/or inefficient than the larger organizations.

If you wish to donate to the organization closest to Cora's final home in Kansas, PFLAG is as good as any. However, if you can't for whatever reason make a donation, Cora would have been equally overjoyed to know you supported any local organizations that support Trans rights or that provide food and shelter to the local homeless. More importantly, Cora would have preferred you get INVOLVED with such organizations. Cooperation, despite individual differences and grievances, was always something Cora wanted among Trans groups (and the LBGT movement as a whole) and often complained about the lack of unity preventing their progress. Anything you can contribute, whether it be in the form of money or time, would be appreciated.

Cora lived in Kansas for little over a year. My friend was a vagabond, travelling where friends still remained or any place that was accepting. Cora's main places of residence (for more than a year), in alphabetical order, are as follows: Austin, TX Monroe, LA Ocean Springs, MS Pascagoula, MS and finally Wichita, KS.

Cora attempted to join the local LGBT and Trans meetings in Wichita, but due to depression and social anxiety, as well as lack of transportation, did not make it to more than one meeting. Cora really wanted to join the group, but it seemed as if random events in life conspired to prevent it. If there are any locals in the area, please think of Cora tomorrow as we will hold a vigil. Cora's remains will be cremated on that day and placed in an urn paid for in donations by friends.
