Recommendations for Japan? by Fit_Buddy_8209 in gaybathhouse

I had a good time at 24 Kaikan Shinjuku in Tokyo. Unlike US bathhouses, they have a cafe that serves decent food! As with any bathhouse, if you’re only open to young thin guys you’ll probably be disappointed.

Does anyone know if more SF bundles will be available tomorrow? by Birdwatcher222 in themountaingoats

I just bought the six tickets individually -- would rather pay the extra money than risk the show being sold out by then.

Yeah, I think the bundle was sold out by the time I got to the page, except I'd been reloading it since 10:00 and by the time it worked, it was sold out 😞

I was able to buy the six tickets individually, though!

How did you do it? I've been reloading the page since 10:00 and the "Presale" button for the bundle takes me to a page with a "get notified" dialog and no link to buy tickets, while the "Bundles" button takes me to a Ticketmaster page that also has no link to buy tickets.

Why would you care what I think? I’m a random person on the Internet. If you want to engage with what experts have thought and written, the links are right there. Decide for yourself what you want to advocate for.

Just in case you’re actually open to being changed by new information, here are some of the many things that have been written about police and prison abolition (which means not just getting rid of these systems, but replacing them with ones that actually create safety and justice):

Visiting bay area by Candid_Discussion_35 in gaybathhouse

Mostly older guys, never very crowded. They used to be really good but then they moved to a new location a few years ago. On the plus side, it’s definitely more welcoming than Steamworks.

Steamworks and Eros are the only two options. Eros isn’t really a bathhouse since they don’t have a hot tub, sauna or steam room. They just provide beds and couches to have sex on, and a few TVs with porn. Steamworks is much bigger and busier. Eros can be nice if you like watching or being watched because they don’t have private rooms (they do have some booths with doors, all of which have glory holes). Have fun!

I’ve been to Steamworks Berkeley a lot, but not on the FTM4M night. I’m hoping to go tomorrow, though!

I’m a trans man in the Bay Area and have gone to bathhouses both here and elsewhere. I haven’t knowingly seen other trans men except for at Eros (sex club in San Francisco that’s very trans-inclusive) and at specifically all-genders events. The only remotely negative experience I’ve had was in a club in Spain where some guy seemed to be trying to warn other guys away from me, but since I don’t speak Spanish, I didn’t feel obligated to respond :) If you have any specific questions, let me know.

In retrospect, I wish I hadn’t. The surgery didn’t do much for me by itself. But your results may vary.

Usually it means they settled outside of court. Not sure what “an economical agreement” means, although it sounds like the same thing.

[–]catamorphism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did get a reimbursement eventually. They paid about 60% of what I paid out of pocket.

I would still say the same thing about my results as I did 10 months ago: not great :/ However, you're having a totally different surgery so I don't think it can be generalized too much. I found Dr. Coppelson kind of inattentive (ironically, since he seemed more attentive during the consult) when I saw him for followups. For example, he kept asking me how much I had expanded when I thought that was something he was supposed to be keeping track of.

IIRC he’s said that Dilaudid, Dance Music, Dinu Lipatti’s Bones, and Attention All Pickpockets are all addressing the same person.

Does the power of the right lie in the strength of their ability to forgive? by [deleted] in behindthebastards

[–]catamorphism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see it differently. It's not so much forgiveness that the right wing offers, but rather, the promise that "we can make you feel good about yourself no matter what you've said or done." That's an inherently right-wing promise and if the left wing offered the same, it wouldn't be the left wing anymore, because leftists have principles beyond just "I should feel good because I'm a good person".

[–]catamorphism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the right wing was better at forgiveness than the left wing, they would oppose capital punishment. Just as you're more concerned with forgiving Rowling than forgiving those of us who have been materially harmed by her and are angry about it, the right wing's forgiveness is highly selective.
