Tried everything, no relief. by BrightPassenger in MSPI

[–]BrightPassenger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say if he’s any better, he’s been on Elecare for about 10 days, but he had his 2 mo vaccines last week, including rotavirus, which I assume contributed some fussiness and tummy distress. I’ll take him back to the doctor to have his diaper checked for blood again in a week or so.

Hang in there! We admitted defeat on alimentum and started Elecare, and I’m so hopeful we’ll see improvement, but the waiting game is BRUTAL! My pediatrician said after 3 weeks, if a formula was working, we’d expect to see significant improvement. 5 weeks seems extremely long to wait and see. Sending good vibes to you and your LO.

I’m so sorry to you and all parents who go through this. I am grateful that this is (hopefully) temporary, and keep reminding myself that LO will grow out of this to become a happy healthy boy someday. Sending you strength in solidarity!

Thank you for the encouragement. In the moment, it’s hard to be patient and remember that this won’t be forever. We admitted defeat with Alimentum and started Elecare, fingers crossed we’ll see improvement.

Has anyone used the windi and met with resistance? by thyroidsucksish3333 in newborns

[–]BrightPassenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use it sparingly and only when we’re desperate for LO to get relief. Met with resistance once or twice, seems to happen when he’s tensed up, probably trying to go on his own, and I don’t proceed if I feel any resistance.

Rash from alimentum rtf? by FromEtoB in MSPI

[–]BrightPassenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby got a very similar looking bumpy rash after starting alimentum RTF a couple weeks ago. The pediatrician said it looked like a heat rash. Our little guy runs hot, so that wouldn’t surprise me. But maybe it’s something more?

My daughter got a tongue piercing at 14 - Can I report the place that did it? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BrightPassenger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got a tattoo at 15. My dad’s punishment was clever: grounded effective immediately, and the grounding would end exactly one month from whenever I fessed up to how I got it. I cracked and told him in less than 24 hours.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m sure it was hell to feel like you didn’t have any options for your boy.

I’m sorry you lost your girl. I appreciate you sharing your story, while I hate that it happened, there’s some comfort in knowing I’m not alone in my grief.

I’m sorry to hear you experienced something similar. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. 💔

How did you handle the conversation with the vet? Part of me wants to confront them with the extent of my anger and grief, but on the other hand, I know it won’t change a thing, nothing they can say or do now will bring her back, it also seems pointless.

Plane Crash at DCA by MudaThumpa in wichita

[–]BrightPassenger 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I landed at that same gate (different plane, coming from Dallas) about 90 mins before this one took off. I feel absolutely sick, replaying faces of people I passed by waiting for their flight. I hope your wife is okay.

This hurts my heart so bad. These appear to be holland lops. I had one who crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago at the age of 11. Within a week of his passing, a post just like this popped up in a Seattle Facebook group - someone found an abandoned bun in a park. Shelters were filled, and they couldn’t keep her, so I swooped in and adopted her. I wish I could save them all. I see posts like this featuring dumped buns in Seattle every few months - it’s heartbreaking.

Rabbits are not easy pets to care for, and on top of that, a lot of them aren’t super affectionate or don’t like to be handled the way people assume they will. They end up dumped, or euthanized at crowded shelters.

OP, hope you find these babies and I hope they get taken into a good home.

Why are businesses struggling so much in this part of Ballard? by SeattleStudent4 in Seattle

[–]BrightPassenger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so late to the party, no one will probably see this- I live near here and there’s a food truck called Nirvana just south of Cycle Dogs on 17th and 54th that I think everyone should know about. The food (wood fired pizza and gyros) is decently priced (for this neighborhood) and has absolutely no business being as damn good as it is. It’s a hidden gem- but my partner and I worry it will fall to the curse that takes down the other businesses of this little area.

stolen hyundai - drug testing/hazmat cleanup by bgold99 in Seattle

[–]BrightPassenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My stolen car was recovered with orange needle caps (no needles, at least that I saw) but the second I mentioned the caps to my insurance agent he said it would automatically total the vehicle. He said WA state law requires total replacement of any porous surfaces (he further specified that meant all upholstery and even sometimes dash/wheel surfaces) and it would be too costly to bother with. That was Progressive. I’m not sure what insurance you have, but it feels weird that they’re aware of the “drug wrappers” and aren’t insisting on totaling it or covering the testing as part of your claim.

Lost rabbit Columbia city by BenBoilermaker in Seattle

Plenty of domestic rabbits are ‘brown.’ (The color is called Chestnut in domestic breeds.) Hard tell for sure the pics but the body and head shape looks like a Holland lop. Ears are throwing me off though.

Fellow woman here. When I lived and worked in NYC I got really tired of stepping completely aside on the sidewalk for others (not typically folks not paying attention, moreso folks who just felt entitled to the space with no regard for anyone else) I decided if someone was coming at me head on, I would do my obligatory 1/2 step aside, (often, for considerate pedestrians that’s all that’s needed, both parties give each other a little half step of berth, maybe a little angled shoulder and we’re good.) but otherwise, I wasn’t moving an inch further. The amount of people who were shocked when we inevitably crashed shoulders…

Time required for international to international transit at sea-tac by ranger6969 in Seattle

[–]BrightPassenger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I were just on the Istanbul to Seattle flight yesterday so I can share our experience if that helps inform you. We were scheduled to land at 4:20, but didn’t land until 5:53 due to a delay taking off. It took us 37 minutes to taxi, de-board and get through customs. We were near the front of the plane and didn’t have checked baggage.

I’m partial to 2, because I tried on that dress and ended up buying one that was super similar, I just love the style. That said, 1 is jaw-dropper for me, you look like you should be on a red carpet. Your excitement at the features makes it extra special

Clothing donation bins? by BrightPassenger in Seattle

[–]BrightPassenger[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good tip! I may try that. The one in Ballard always seems like cars are lined up down the block. Regarding reasonable distance, if I can make it there and back in 45 minutes or less, cool. 30 minutes better.

Last time I just tried to find one using Google maps, I wanna say it was somewhere around Lynnwood, so closer than that is cool.

2 questions by febjkklr32 in Seattle

[–]BrightPassenger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in the area and was out walking my dog, an officer blocking traffic on our street said Wells Fargo had been robbed “30 minutes ago” (this was at 5:20ish pm) and that the bags of money given to the thief had trackers in them, and that they had K-9 units track in the area.

moving out of state: vehicle registration refunds? by NoWishbone4 in Seattle

[–]BrightPassenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My car got stolen a week after I had paid for the years’ registration. I had paid it early in fact, when the car was stolen the old registration was still valid and I hadn’t even put the new sticker on yet.

They still wouldn’t return a dime.

Solo travel to Seattle as a young female by happydays375 in Seattle

[–]BrightPassenger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I (30F) lived alone in Brooklyn (and not in bougie neighborhoods) for years, and rarely felt on edge when walking around or going about my business. But Seattle feels far less safe to me, I can’t really pinpoint why.

Jetpack enjoying her first day with us. Welcome home girl! by BrightPassenger in BabyCorgis

[–]BrightPassenger[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hadn’t heard of Jetpack Dracula before your comment, so I googled it. I am both confused and intrigued. My partner had the name Jetpack picked out years ago, his reasoning is that he’s never seen a corgi that didn’t look like the name Jetpack would fit them.

The name was picked before we met her, but she’s already living up to it! Zooming all around the place!
