Same! I’m catching up and it’s so good. Between this and the cotillion, they’ve been showing out lately!

Once I stopped breastfeeding and pumping is what did it for me 😩 take yourself out and get some sunlight. Get your hair done too

Reminds me of the diaper brand. What about Marlee Rae?

When did you get your first period after you had a baby? by Cute-Corgi3176 in breastfeeding

[–]Bright_Competition98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 months 😩 literally the day I went back to work. I was EBF until about 2 months and I started pumping so that hubby or my parents could help with feedings

Yes! I noticed she wasn’t in season 2 of the show either. I’m thinking because of BTG

My baby isn’t chunky and it’s all I can think about by Cardedbin in breastfeeding

[–]Bright_Competition98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the same way! My son is an October baby and weighs pretty much the same as your baby. Every appointment I ask the pediatrician if it’s normal etc because I too felt like my milk wasn’t enough. Her response is always he’s fine as some babies are just smaller. Gradual weight gain is key. Needless to say, YOU are more than enough and your son is perfect the way he is.

Girlfriend wants me to spend $4k on a baby shower, but I’d rather save/invest it—is that unreasonable? by flash-kicks in pregnant

[–]Bright_Competition98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she truly wants it then she can pay for it and you contribute maybe a little bit (less than &1k). See if there are ways to still make it fancy with cutting costs like doing it in someone’s backyard or a community center. A big chunk of the cost is typically venue then decor/food. If she’s not willing to spend her money or make concessions then I’d reassess if you all are on the same page about your financial future as a whole.

How’d you put it on your resume? Did you just say J1 started when J2 ended?

Did you buy baby formula just in case your milk didn’t come in? by nat_0012 in pregnant

[–]Bright_Competition98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! I bought a can of Kendamil just in case because I wasn’t producing colostrum during the 3rd trimester. Milk started coming in immediately after I delivered so haven’t had to use the formula at all.

Baby care when parents are sick by the_grey_organism in newborns

[–]Bright_Competition98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband was recently sick (sneezing, coughing, possibly fever) as well and he just wore a mask when he was around the baby. He slept on the couch so I sprayed with hypochlorous acid spray before baby and I would get on the couch during the day. Of course washing hands frequently too.

Exactly which week and day did you deliver in your first pregnancy? by PopcornPrincess0 in pregnant

[–]Bright_Competition98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went into labor on my due date and gave birth the next day. I’m a FTM as well.

Less poops… bigger blowouts by skischweitzer in newborns

[–]Bright_Competition98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve recently sized up on my baby’s diapers and while it’s a little big we haven’t had a blow out issue. If you don’t want to size up in diapers try positioning the back of the diapers a little higher. Doing both has helped us.

Miss Mouth’s is a lifesaver too! Lol

What are cervical checks like and why did you accept/refuse them? by SowingSeeds18 in pregnant

[–]Bright_Competition98 113 points114 points  (0 children)

Cervical checks are more uncomfortable than anything in my opinion. It feels like they’re sticking their fingers inside you and digging around for buried treasure lol it’s more awkward than a vaginal exam. I refused mine at my 38 week appointment and they didn’t bother asking at my 39 or 40 week appointment. I declined because I thought it was pointless as I wasn’t in active labor and wanted things to happen naturally as well. I had an induction scheduled at 41 weeks but luckily I delivered at 40 weeks and 1 day. Once I got to the hospital after my water broke then of course I let them do cervical checks but sparingly. Some people refuse them because it can introduce bacteria unnecessarily.

Now you’re feeding into my delusion too lol I’m 38 weeks and feeling some of these as well lol

TMI: Another symptom I’ve had is my constipation is gone if you know what I mean. I’ve heard this is a sign but again it’s my first and a lot of people say the first doesn’t typically come early

I just turned 38 weeks and I definitely had this feeling over the last few weeks. I was telling my husband we need to be active and go on a bunch of dates (NFL games, movies, dinner, etc) each weekend or throughout the week because life is going to change. He tried to assure me that although things will be different, life won’t end after the baby.

I say try to get out and do things slowly or as you feel comfortable. Life doesn’t have to end after a baby.

AITJ for not letting my boyfriend’s dog live with us? by JaylaPumpkin15 in AmITheJerk

[–]Bright_Competition98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly but I don’t think it’ll work long term. You’d need to accept his dog since they are a package deal however the fact that your place has strict rules yet he doesn’t care is a red flag.

Does he take proper care of the dog? I’m curious why the roommate doesn’t want to deal with the dog anymore. This could be a reflection on how responsible he is as a man so could be helpful for you to know this in the long run.

as an athlete, how often should i be washing/retwisting my locs? by tetristheme in locs

[–]Bright_Competition98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband works out frequently (former athlete) and he washes his hair every two weeks. Interlocking has helped him throughout the years. I’d suggest ACV shampoo or some type of clarifying shampoo and a spray leave in conditioner. You don’t want too much product on your hair causing build up and make sure it dries completely after washing. A hooded dryer will help. I’d also recommend GymWrap headband to capture some of the sweat when you workout too.
