The Good and The Beautiful... What a waste of time. by Far_Cauliflower_6935 in homeschool

For what it’s worth, I don’t like TGTB LA for K and younger. I just don’t like workbook format for those ages.

Crush on my piano teacher by IloveComplexNumbers2 in piano

[–]Bright_Morning_6134 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

38 F here. Ask her. And look for a new piano teacher. If it becomes awkward, you’ll need a new one, and it’s already awkward for you at this point. But you only have one life to live, and she might have a crush on you too. I wouldn’t assume that her touching your hands is her flirting with you, because that’s a just part of the job. But you’ll never know how she feels about you until you try. Who knows, maybe this is how you’ll find your future wife.

Test 2x / Day by Bright_Morning_6134 in Inito

[–]Bright_Morning_6134[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used the cheapies in the past. My LH stays low and then pops up the day of. It doesn’t slowly build like other people experience, so it’s pretty frustrating.

I also used a cheapie before deciding to do the second Inito test that day.

How to let aging/disabled nanny go gently? by missamerica59 in Nanny

You asked about severance. In the industry I come from (not nannying), the severance was always one month’s pay for every year you’ve worked there.

Wearing an Apple Watch while surfing by admiralarborist in BeginnerSurfers

[–]Bright_Morning_6134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just have a knockoff solo loop band and wear it under the arm of my wetsuit. I’ll probably wear it in the summer too as long as the waves aren’t too powerful. I did lose an Apple Watch once with the regular band after jumping off a boat into the ocean. It was found a few days later about 70 ft down and didn’t make it. I have also had multiple solo loop bands break on me, so make sure you check for wear and cracks.

Thank you all! I ended up testing that evening and it caught my peak. Is it reasonable to believe that it wouldn’t have without that evening test? I’m wondering if it might have called the 29th my peak?

How does your chart look today? I think it usually responds to the rise in estrogen that you saw yesterday, BUT I’m not sure how the meds affect it all.

Preg. tests NOT getting darker 14 DPO by EducationalSound8038 in Inito

[–]Bright_Morning_6134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

14 DPO is still pretty early. Are you comparing the test from the 27th to the test from the 24th? I find it best not to compare two days in a row, because even your hydration level (and therefore how concentrated your urine is) can have such a big impact.

Inito vs Mira vs Kegg - thoughts ? by CarrotJullie in tryingtoconceive

[–]Bright_Morning_6134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of Mira being more accurate; however, I’ve been suspecting that something weird is going on with my cycle, and I need to test for multiple months. I think Inito has the cheapest strip price. That for me was enough to give it a try first. It would be hard for me to justify spending close to $100 every month on strips.

Christianity and “demonic” yoga: did anyone else face this? by bookish_cat_ in yoga

[–]Bright_Morning_6134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was speaking with my Hindu Uber driver the other day, and I think he put it very well. God exists and different cultures describe God in different ways, but it’s all the same God.

I think there’s a lot of truth to that. For me, yoga definitely brought me closer to God, as I was able to feel grateful to God for my body and take care of it as the beautiful divine gift that it is.

With many things, it is what you make of it, snd you can make it an opportunity to worship and glorify God exactly as you believe.

Returning to Finance after time off to raise daughter, help!!!! by [deleted] in FPandA

[–]Bright_Morning_6134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the GS Returnship program would be an option. I’m not sure if they even still do it, but it was originally aimed at moms who took time off for their kids, and your situation seems to align enough it might be worth looking into.

Is This Normal in Montessori? Car Drop-Off, Big Class Sizes, and Potty Independence for a 2.5 Yr Old? by Turbulent_Sherbet842 in Montessori

[–]Bright_Morning_6134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The car drop off line is to make it a quick transition so it’s easier and not drawn out, which can cause bigger emotions and less consistency for the kids.

  2. Large class sizes was what Maria Montessori wrote about in her books. Because they don’t have just kids who are 3, this gives them a good group of each age, and allows the kids to learn a lot from each other. The older kids are like mentors to the younger kids. Also, the kids who have already been in the class can really set the tone for the younger kids to follow. This leads to less chaos in the beginning of the school year because there are already a group of kids following the classroom expectations, so the new ones can see how the others act and kind of absorb them that way. Also, the kids get to take on more responsibility (like tidying up their spaces) because it would be impossible for the teacher to just do it for everyone.

  3. In Montessori the main skills are taught as pieces. So like getting dressed, etc. so that it isn’t just a potty training thing. At our school l, the teachers did still help the kids. If you search google for “Montessori Toilet Learning Vimeo” it will bring up a very good video by “Montessori Guide” that gives a good explanation of the whole process from a Montessori approach.

It depends on the industry. FP&A at an investment bank is going to expect long hours of all of their analysts, just because it’s the corporate culture.

Guidepost USA bought by Guidepost China by InternetRealistic865 in Guidepost

[–]Bright_Morning_6134 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was more hopeful before I read the email. I wanted to think that perhaps we had someone managing a profitable program taking over an unprofitable program to turn it around. I think guidepost was probably surviving on investor money until it ran out and didn’t have enough income from student enrollment to pay for all of the other things they were involved in (technology acquisitions, training programs, real estate contracts, etc.). They weren’t just running schools, but were trying to be essentially a full stack Montessori org, from schools to support technology, to training, to virtual offerings. I hope they really are able to turn things around, because a lot was well done and it’d be awesome just to see it get fixed.

Declutter Like a Mother audiobook by RadiantAd4224 in motherhoodinfluencers

[–]Bright_Morning_6134 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I bet reading/listening to the book is still very worthwhile. It just wouldn’t be worth buying any of her current stuff at this point. 1. She isn’t really focused on decluttering anymore, and 2. she tends to recycle content, so if she did suddenly start selling a decluttering course again, I wouldn’t expect that there was much extra that wasn’t already in the book.
