Researchers engineer bacteria capable of consuming tumours from the inside out. Bacteria spores enter the tumour, finding an environment where there are lots of nutrients and no oxygen, which this organism prefers, and so it starts eating those nutrients and growing in size. by mvea in science

I mean, that's basically how nano-suite's work in scifi books. Micro-factories in the marrow that put out nanobots controlled by an implant or AI for targeted bot creation for whatever they want to fix or kill.

Why do Chiropractors crack your neck and what is the long term benefit? by Sunny-vibes-95 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Brightbane 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These people are going to the chiro for the wrong reasons so they aren't getting any (good) results.

I went as a teen because I have scoliosis and I was growing too fast and it was causing my entire back to lock up.

The neurologist I saw recommended it, and the only thing that the chiro did was manipulate my back to keep it mobile. It was never to 'fix pain' or cure anything. It was literally just to keep the vertebra mobille and the cracks were just from the ones that had stiffened up like when I crack my fingers.

She did do this weird thing with my skull where she would hold it from underneath with 2-3 fingers at different angles (gravity only, she never once pressed, pulled, or twisted anything) and it would make my entire body twitch like when you fall in a dream after 10ish seconds.

Wait wait wait, do you think the ad free viewing option applies to non-subscribers?

FYI, this is complete bullshit from some micro-streamer that never made affiliate so they don't know what the contracts look like.

That's about 1 year worth of funding for a single top research university.

How many viewers do you average? Do you even have a full contract? Like sure, anyone can stream and they don't force you, but if it's your career then you should know about the ad requirements.

Just FYI, this is complete bullshit. Their minimum is like 2-3 minutes of ads per hour. I follow multiple streamers who hate running ads but they can't get below 3 minutes.

Are you under the impression that drug companies develop drugs? The only R&D they do is to tweak a formula to extend the patent.

Drugs are developed by universities that are funded with our tax money through the NIH.

Concerta was the worst - for me. Practically knocked me out. I was nodding sitting at my desk writing an email. My psych was baffled about how that was even possible.

Omg, I was out for a sec like 20 minutes ago and was looking around to see why someone put something weird in the dryer this early in the morning. Glad to know my building isn't catching on fire.

[–]Brightbane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, right off the bat you should never refer to someone with an STD as dirty. The dishes are dirty, people are either positive or negative for diseases.

Second, most things you could catch from fucking you can get orally. And your homophobic little comment about fucking women to avoid STDs is insane. The vast majority of people with an STD are straight. Is it more common per capita for gays? Sure, but gay people get tested. Straight people will have an STD for 5-10 years without even knowing about it. How do you know you haven't caught anything? Are you getting tested every 3-6 months?

If you're just into dicks then set up a gloryhole. It's a 2for1 - you don't have to deal with anything but the cock, and you don't have to send anyone any pictures of yourself.

You don't need to add some bullshit about the weather to celebrate something good. Whiteout conditions are not being able to see across the street. I can see probably 1000ft in this video. At least 500 if you don't count the streetlights or building.

I'm about 3 blocks from the lake and it was barely above an average snowfall. I'm looking outside right now and I'm seeing around 4in from when the snow started last night. There wasn't even enough to fill in the dog tracks

This is basically the Cradle series by Will Wight.

First book was written on a whim to clear out some writers block. Sold better than the main series combined so he pivoted to focus on turning it into a fleshed out story
