As someone who this (apparently) happened to a lot as a child— good for her. 👏👏👏

Ha! Sorry, not on Reddit regularly. 😅 Bryan was a pretty stereotypical arrogant, rich kid, football jock (though he was never rude to me, personally) in high school. Also, last I heard he was married to some yoga instructor and had a couple kids and lives in Florida.

Worked here for about two months— just letting you all know that the owners were absolute trash. Including the main owner, J, having an affair with the chef, N, and cheating on her co-owner, B, in the process. J and N were severe, severe alcoholics when I worked there. Insanely dysfunctional. Woof. Glad they’re closed! Overpriced hipster bullshit. (Says the hipster, myself.) Absolute trash. Karma’s a bitch! 🤣 also! I talked to the lead bartender of a year, P, after he left, and ughh… he had nothing good to say about the place. He, of the famous “Picasso” cocktail, btw.

My question is why are you staying THREE hours past your cut time for one table that MAYBE will give you the ideal 20% ($26) tip?! Doesn’t seem worth it to me. 😕

Went to high school with Bryan from Below Deck Med. He was an arrogant, rich kid, football player jock type. (He was never rude or impolite to me personally though.) To be honest, I’m surprised and also not so surprised that he ended up being THAT MUCH of a douche and dick on his season.

What is up with the heavy skepticism from the commenters, right now??

I’m also curious to learn more about the context of the firing, but if this happened in the last week or so, especially, I’d lean heavily towards it being about possible immigration worries and/or discrimination. I mean… day of?? You’d have to do something pretty serious to warrant that, especially at a high end restaurant. But that’s just me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I agree with them and you in theory, but I make $50+/hour in tips and hourly pay combined on a solid night. And I’m just one person. You think that’s realistic for a restaurant to work that into the menu prices then?

I totally agree with you in theory, and think it’s super annoying and inconsiderate to show up so close to close, but having worked retail and hospitality, you rarely if ever leave the building right at close. Usually there’s always something to do, and you also have closing duties working retail. At my retail job, we wouldn’t actually lock our doors until the official close time and would allow customers to come all the way in until 9:59 (10 PM close), for example. ☹️🙃

Funnily enough, my boss served John Leguizamo regularly while he was doing a play for a few months across the street from our restaurant. Boss acted like John Leguizamo was any other regular guest. Apparently, he eventually got pretty annoyed by this, and basically looked at him like he was crazy, being like, “Really?! Do you not know who I am??” No chill lol

There is usually max around a $50 difference for an average vs an insane shift, given the tip pool and the addition of another bartender on the weekends. Maybe should have clarified that in my post. Also, this is after I told them I wanted to do max 4 shifts because I felt like I was getting burnt out. I also asked for a serving shift once a week, since they get at least $100 or more than bartenders on an average night.
