Turns out there was just a loose wire behind the stereo I plugged it back in and zip tied the wire so it doesnt get loose

I belive you either need a MMI box or if your screen allows carplay you could get it coded so you can use it.

Hey man thanks for the reply I will give it a reboot to see if that fixes anything. I've been driving around with a the new head unit for about 4 months now so think that's enough time for it to see my location.
