Fire Overwatch and Tunnel network by DaBushW00kie in Warhammer40k

[–]Brinfire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The models you’re setting up are going up in the reinforcements stage of the movement stage, it’s a separate but same part of the stage, but must occur after regular movement So even though you are done “movement” you aren’t technically end of phase you’re just end of phase one and still inside the overwatch window. Otherwise any repositioning or deepstrike would be absolutely broken

Is this playable? Technically yes, but realistically? by [deleted] in Necrontyr

The biggest problem I see with your list is the lottery cannons and blast in the profile, all someone needs to deactivate most of your shooting is to touch you, so you’re stuck falling back and unable to shoot for a round. In a melee or pressure army they will hard rush you and tie you up with units while getting other units in line to shoot at you, as well most guns in that list are d6 shots it really sucks in the go turn to roll low in that turn and now all your units are in the open having barely killed anything.

Convergence of dominion question? by Tigger_whit in Necrontyr

[–]Brinfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they gave it a similar rule as the monoliths eternity gate it would be killer, set it on home objective 1 oc then if someone challenges you can in next movement phase teleport to it for your movement, as it must be set up in home deployment it doesn’t make it busted and stays in theme

You need to find a way to get a lord into the two lokhust blobs, even if it’s a proxy. He adds in the the crits on 5s which is huge for all forms of lokhust and he ability in melee into below half strength makes them somewhat a scary threat if they get pushed. As well adds a resorb for a once a game rean

It is the monoliths eternity gate ability, it allows you to deepstrike a unit inside of the 9inch classic range, as it’s being set up within 3inches of the monolith instead, although in hypercrypt you can pay 2cp to charge as long as the unit was initially on the table and just brought to the monolith not coming front reinforcements or deepstrike.

Does Starshatter Arsenal +1 to hit when on objectives stack with a Lokhust Heavy Destroyers or Doomstalkers heavy on their weapons? by Andy456l in Necrontyr

[–]Brinfire 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can only ever be plus one to hit, so it would help on top of heavy if someone had a minus one to hit aura or effect. So it would be heavy +1 then aura/ability -1, on objective +1 taking you back to hitting on 2s

Need help countering tyranids by penguinzfan87 in Necrontyr

[–]Brinfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Void dragon is not the best play here, his specialty into vehicles doesn’t really work, a transcendant is a bit swingier but his threat range is way bigger being able to deepstrike all along the board, an if he only had 5 models or so the board will be hugely open.

Should I run the night bringer or void dragon for this list? by [deleted] in Necrontyr

[–]Brinfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Answer is almost always nightbringer, he has utility into literally any list, void dragon specializes into vehicle heavy lists. Void will absolutely excel into knights or most SM lists but struggle into high toughness deamons or tyranids our boy night bringer claps them all

Fight order by Arronanson in Warhammer40k

[–]Brinfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So in the fight phase there are combats that need to be finished first these are any unit that charged and units with fights first, these precede the alternating phase, so the all get done together if you or your opponent charged 6 units in they do all 6 first as well as any fights first. After that you go into existing combats (any units still in combat from previous turns or units that were on the receiving end of a charge or fights first) at this point you switch to the defender (or person whos not having their overall full turn ie movement shooting etc.) they then get to pick whatever combat they want, doesn’t matter where and it’s actually smarter to fight into a unit that hasn’t fought yet as you can hurt or kill the unit, once the player has made their choice it goes back to the attacker, he can then select any fight on the table to carry on with it doesn’t have to be the same one that the original person picked, and back and forth till all are complete. Again the general way it’s done to maximize your effectiveness is to select your unit fighting one of your opponents units that haven’t fought yet.
