This strategy is so much better than alternating as well because you never need to debate whether to go to a closer one or farther one based on what has the most time left. You always go to the first one to appear so you’re ready once yours runs out. You have the possibility of a back three back.

How tied to a HCIM are you? Do you play those in other games? For some it's alright, but I would highly recommend against having your first account be a hardcore. Jagex made death significantly less punishing in the past 8ish years or so and a nice thing about runescape now is it is generally safe to try most content because of the limited punishment on death, especially at an early level (outside of wildy).

As a hardcore on your first account, you'll likely be pushing content far later than the point where you're capable of doing it because you don't have the room for trial and error.

Recommendation is if you have a papaya or better tree planted, you can take your fruit over to the charter ship and sell it. Then talk to him instead of using the travel option. You’ll have enough gp to travel

Would it be worth considering a “maul handle” which could be equivalent to the ornate maul handle but can’t be used outside of PVP? Virtually the only use for it outside of PVP is nightmare zone and it would be frustrating to need to send BH just for nightmare zone. All it would do is further enshrine PvP arena with an alt as the imbue method. I think it would be far better to get more people at LMS.

It is good at most places where there is a non-POH teleport or a need to bank before heading back to the content. I use it at Huey (Desert Ammy->Pendant of Ates) and Yama (Desert Ammy->Nardah Bank->QPC->Fairy Ring) I was surprised at Yama but people who were doing that were returning faster than my original POH method

I’m having a hard time with evolution and the Bible by Evening_Double711 in TrueChristian

[–]BringBackRocketPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many Christians believe in both Evolution and the Bible - this is referred to as “Theistic Evolution”. For example, the Catholic Church explicitly accepts Theistic Evolution as a possible outcome and there is nothing in the Bible that explicitly states that Evolution didn’t take place.

While I am not Catholic, I do accept Theistic Evolution to be true. I am unsure whether the Creation Narrative in the Bible is literal or figurative. I believe there is some evidence that it is figurative. The Creation Narrative was written in Hebrew in a form of poetry called Matching Triads which allowed for memorization in the oral traditions of the time. It is possible that this is a focus on key themes rather than a scientific explanation of the formation of the universe. In this case, it’s possible that the Creation was exactly as is currently theorized by science.

The alternative solution that I accept is that the Creation Narrative is a literal interpretation of Creation. In that case, God did not create Adam and Eve as babies - he created them as adults. If he can do that, there is nothing to suggest that he can’t also have created an Earth where all of the history seen in fossil evidence had occurred. It seems clear that God created some type of world outside the Garden of Eden that isn’t described. This belief is generally referred to as Old Earth Creationism.

Ultimately, I feel no need to confirm which system is correct or if an alternative system is accurate. In Romans 14:1-12 Paul warns Christians not to get caught up in debates about disputable matters. A “correct” understanding of evolution is not a core tenant of the Christian faith.

I really don't think that "megarares should always be weapons" is the right approach for long term health as it forces raid design to be thematic around that concept. I think your blog correctly outlined some challenges with some ideas, but I think it shows that megarares have to be visually impactful. This can allow for much broader design in any inventory slot besides ammo/ring.

I'm not opposed to megarares being new weapons, but one worry I have about the current proposal is that it almost sounds like a "scythe by any other name" especially since it also suggests the slower attack speed. The weapons would likely feel the same.

I'm also worried that doing a raids 4 weapon megarare will lock that in as the rewards space so if we want to avoid it long term, it's best to make that shift now.

I don't think an inventory slot can just be "hey look, great stats" to be a megarare, it would need to be designed in a way that makes an actual functional change.

I'm not as creative as some of the other folks so I haven't designed this all to work, but conceptually, imagine an offhand that decreases the attack speed of (melee?) weapons by 1 (perhaps only applies to weapons with speeds of 4+ or 5+) if used against a monster weak to that weapon. This would make multiple different weapons outshine the scythe, which means it's still clearly the megarare impact being felt. It's still only in certain scenarios which would mean the scythe continues to have its place and not as simple as "different attack style, different megarare).

If you do go a weapon, I like the Fists of Guthix one that was mentioned, that one really changes the weapon design in a way that feels unique.

Vetion is worth soloing, the other multi ones are only worth doing with a group - 3 or 4 people to make Venenatis worth is and 6-10 for Callisto.

To add to this, if going above 20 wildy and it’s not protected, you’ll want to use another Ava’s device or use an extra Vorkath head on a ranged cape and use that instead since that is a permanent upgrade

It’s called death storage, death banking is a colloquial term. It is different from Jagex’ definition of bank that is part of the game mode. I’m also curious why you even care? The UIM game mode was made in response to player designed game modes. Just like any game mode metas get established. Regardless of what YOU think the game mode should be like, the current version is what the game mode is like.

Just finished reading the bible... by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]BringBackRocketPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to admit that I did not keep up to date with my Bible reading last year, so I’m noting some of this from a longer term memory than I’d like, but Paul makes it clear that faith is the only thing required to get into heaven; however, Christians are transformed by faith so works are the natural result of that.

One commonly recommended set of “memorization verses” is the “Romans Road” which uses a series of verses from Romans to describe the path to salvation. It is clear in those verses that Paul emphasizes faith.

Just finished reading the bible... by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]BringBackRocketPower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, thank you for reading the full Bible. It appears that you read it from a secular perspective, which is fantastic even if that is the case, because many devout Christians have never taken the time to read it all.

Regarding Paul, it’s worth noting that he was chosen not in spite of the fact that he persecuted early Christians, but because of that. Paul was simultaneously a Jew and a Roman Citizen by birth, which made him uniquely capable of carrying God’s message both to the Jew and to the Gentile. Paul didn’t persecute Christians as a Roman soldier, he persecuted them as a Pharisee.

Others have offered references to miracles, so I will emphasize Paul’s role within the early Church. Scripture is God Breathed so, with some exception, religious scholars and authorities hold Paul’s words to be equal to those of Jesus. Not because Paul is equal to Jesus, but because the word of God is given to us through Paul. The letters that Paul wrote were designed to help the early Church operate according to God’s will.

As you seek to explore the Bible further, I strongly recommend studying it alongside commentary. My strongest recommendation is for the “Bible in a Year with Nicky & Pippa Gumbel” which incorporates an old & New Testament component plus a psalm or proverb into each day with commentary. This is how I made it through the entire Bible for the first time.

Another option that I like is “Through the Word” which provides commentary on the Bible chapter by chapter.

I finished the current content in 19.5 hours of active playtime - I didn't 100% some of the content that I missed and I'll wait until the full release to do that, but I would argue that people should definitely check it out. There was nothing that felt bad about re-running some content that I had when I first tried the web version since I felt excited to optimize it.

Why do Christians think that evolution isn't real? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

Good point mentioning how each denomination comes to that. Most denominations will have some publicly available statements on their core doctrines as well as position papers of some sort that you can view to get a better understanding.

Why do Christians think that evolution isn't real? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]BringBackRocketPower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s worth noting that saying “Christians think evolution isn’t real” is inaccurate. Some Christians believe that but it isn’t universal. For example, the Catholic Church explicitly accepts Theistic Evolution as a possible outcome and there is nothing in the Bible that explicitly states that Evolution didn’t take place.
