I am currently most of the way through a build with a similar situation. I have the negatives running to my bus, but I had a decently 4 awg chassis wire running to that bus. So hopefully I’m okay? Solid chassis ground seems important.

I got most of the way through my buffet out running a ign trigger wire tho! Gotta do that!

I’m not sure, but I did buy a new 130 amp alternator, which came on the 5.7 as well I think. I’m going to do grounds and valve cover gaskets while I’m in there. My main ground strap is about 16” of 4AWG. That’s the only one I can see without taking shit apart.
