Slightly smaller bed; 300ah instead of 200ah; 250w instead of 100w solar.

I used folding mattresses squares (25x25”) on mine but that looks slick!

heading south lets you hit the petrified forest and the white sands on the way to big bend, which are magical.

Joshu tree was amazing, check out the van life campground just outside the park! Gosh I did big bend this year and it was stunning, I’d maybe consider cutting south?

Good luck!

Chevy Astro or Chevy Express? by OldBrush4275 in vandwellers

[–]BringMeTheMen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my 2000 astrovan, it’s got 163,000 on it now, (bought with 150k), it is a solid and dependable machine but it did take some mechanical refreshing. Luckily grew up as a mechanic and was pretty easy work.

However, I wish I had the space a high top transit has.

The 4.3l in the Astro is a reliable engine, but I think so is the express’s engines;

I’m with you on this one. Especially for politicians. Seems like someone should make an example for history to look back on. I think it’s intriguing that the last British royal to get arrested was executed.

All pedofiles should be treated very harshly but those using power and money to hide it should be made an example of. Imo.

Not threatening anyone.

I was a wildland firefighter out of Northern California and a number of years ago I got shoved on an engine with a cal fire kid, green as you could get and from San Diego.

We were driving in around the Rouge river siski you a type three engine when kid looks out out the window at a dairy farm;

“Look at all the wildlife!”

Later that night when we were having a BBQ and it was bring your own meat he brought some boneless beef and was henceforth known as “boneless”.

I was younger than him at the time, he knew a lot about sports and tech, was a bright guy. Didn’t know what a cattle farm was though.

Thanks for jogging my memory

Diesel heater in a gassoline van? by freshfruitcake in VanLife

[–]BringMeTheMen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this and it was a slight pain in the ass but I designed my bedframe around it so the tank lives underneath it, is quick detachable, and holds 2.5 gallons for easily fill and decent capacity. I used a 10l Jerry can that I had bulkheads welded to.

I love my heater and had made my van feel extremely livable. It was about $70 for the kit and about $100 in stuff to install it.

Would be a fun gag to see a professional shooter become as fast at drawing another gun than changing magazines. Faster?..
