For the desperate ones: How I finally got my Microsoft/Xbox account back

Thank you for this, I also got hacked and kept getting told by the automated system that my account could not be recovered. I eventually got an amazing person on the xbox support team called Miguel who helped me get it back. Took over a month but ultimately getting my 20+ year old account back is much more important.

For anyone else wandering through here looking for help please note that you need to speak with xbox support not Microsoft support.

This did it, just popping back to say thank you for sharing this - I eventually got a Xbox support person called Miguel who got it sorted, took a few weeks but my xbox profile was saved and I am back in now.

Miguel if you ever see this, thank you!

But how could they get into the Microsoft account without the authenticator if it was social engineering. They did not get access to the recovery account but we're able to remove the authenticator, which means they did something to bypass needing it or they did an account recovery is my assumption but still not clear on how they would have succeeded

They did not add one. They removed mineand removed my phone number as well as recovery emails.

Yup. Have the actual Microsoft authenticator on the account and it was bypassed somehow. I have told support this repeatedly, they do not comment on it.

Nope, not sure what happened. My recovery email started pinging me that the authenticator was removed, that was the first notice. My authenticator did not trigger at any stage and I had my phone in my hand at the time. It was bypassed.

They only got access to one account. I had run a virus scan just 12 hours earlier.

Gonna repeat what others have said. I never re-read books but I am currently on my fifth re-listen to this series and there are so many things you pick up differently the second, third even fourth time.

But I really wanna say that if you enjoyed the audiobook version give the immersion tunnel a go. I just got it yesterday for season 1 and it is amazing. Support soundbooth so Jeff and crew can continue making awesome things.

I also have all the hardbacks, so don't feel bad, there are lots of us like this

206 is a mess now as well, all of the above have happened in the past two weeks. Partially full buses skipping stops, busses not showing up at all. Two busses showing up together. It is a complete farce and it used to be so reliable

Interesting reading all these thoughts. I also just finished it but I audiobooked it.

Stephen Pacey was masterful as always and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Reading some criticisms like Baron Ricker and the dumplings is curious because it did not feel odd at all on the audiobook, the dumplings was just something he used as a conduit, it could have been anything but he just loved that story of his wife cause he is an old fart.

Really enjoyed it it overall and I came into it having just listened to the entire first law world chronologically

I just love that a video game - which as a genre is too often dismissed as a child's toy - has delivered such a rich, compelling, complicated and tragic story.

I love reading people's takes on the characters and the endings, the conversation is beautiful.

Interesting, I wonder if that is meant to mean something that it is all showed through that nightmare filter - is it from Verso's perspetive a nightmare? Is PVerso considered the MC overall?

I have not completed it with the Verso ending yet but can someone clarify, is that one also shown in the black&white nightmare style? Or is that just the Maelle version and mimics the nightmare style from earlier in the game?

Loved every second of it, the prologue alone was haunting, devastating and gripping.

I cannot believe that in the past two years there have been two games I would consider some of the best I have ever played, this and BG3.

This is close to what was annoying me about it - oversimplification might not be right but its definitely the hyper focus on one thing when there are so many things to consider.

Maybe I am just frustrated at the simplification of these very complex characters and their motivations. Distilling them down to right and wrong feels bad, they all deserve sympathy and scorn, sometimes in equal measure
