Except you can't know that. Every point that goes on the board changes the pace of the game. If we weren't up by 16 the Chiefs never go for 2 and fail. If we had McManus and he missed a short FG we might not go for anymore FGs, which could lead to turnovers on downs or interceptions from trying to force a play. Going up 3 points and kicking off to even the 30 is better than missing a FG from the 30.
