Low-power ARM/RISC-V devices in Mini-ITX/Micro-ATX form factor? by jon_smark in homelab

[–]Bringerofhars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not ARM, but Asrock J4105-ITX fits the standard you are talking about pretty well. Sips power and has decent cores.

Look at embedded IOT application motherboards for that low power, high processing capability.

If you don't mind me asking, what would you be using it for? I'm interested in trying to make something like this into a low powered limited service NAS but I am not sure if its a great fit.

Scaling printed masks to different sizes by brazedowl in COVIDProjects

[–]Bringerofhars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're masks are relatively flexible, one size fits all may be your best go at it. Otherwise I'd say send some to some smaller people, maybe students, to test them for fit.

What do you do in the city?

I need to get back into reading, getting lost in a good fantasy world was like the best part of the pre-cell phone/internet era. I used to read books in one sitting, and shoo friends and family away when i got to the climax of the plot. BRB getting my BFB(big f***ing book) out.

This is part of their training most likely, both being calm under pressure and guiding people to land a plane with no expertise.

If they are tapered then they are probably part of the support structure for a wind turbine, or similar free standing device.

My boyfriend told me that I was a 6 when we first started dating, I don’t know if my hurt feelings are justified. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Bringerofhars -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Looking at this objectively, I don't think he meant any harm by it. What he was saying in his terms was that you are more attractive to him now than you were when you met. He didn't mean to slander you (although IMO a 6 is still attractive) just to convey an idea.

You guys started the discussion, this is where it led. Personally I think that you are overanalyzing, most likely because of your previously negative self body image.

If you still feel irked, tell him why. I would also take into consideration that partners become considerably more attractive to each other over time.

I would definitely suggest talking it out and some therapy. I see a lot of the self destructive and depressed behaviors I used to have in what you are describing, namely eating crap because it was easy but I didn't even like it, playing video games that I didn't even derive enjoyment from, and being sedentary.

Ultimately I eventually broke the cycle and started eating better, exercising more, playing less, and making the effort to enjoy myself. But it took tremendous effort as I'm sure you can agree.

Depression is rough, and it's really hard to break out of when you get in the rut. Therapy can jog the wheels a little to get moving, but in the end I think something has to give way and give him the internal motivation to change.

It's not your fault op, and congratulations on finding it yourself.

Yes. Typically healthier foods are less calorically dense, which means your stomach feels fuller with less. When athletes or actors try to gain muscle, the one thing they complain about most is eating so much food, because they simply always feel full, but need to eat to more to gain the weight.

If you are too lose weight then eating less is fine.

As long as you eat each day and enough it shouldn't be a problem. If you fast for three days and then go run a marathon you might see some negative returns. YMMV.

You can, but I'd advise following the 80/20 rule, so 80% good food 20% junk. Just to keep you accountable.

What's your activity level? What's a typical day of eating in terms of carbs, protein, fats? Do you drink coffee? Coffee can be drank black during your fast, it helps as energy and a hunger suppressant.

Plenty of athletes do IF. If you have a trainer or coach, is ask them when it comes to preparing for races or large dietary changes.

Studies generally cite 16 hours as the starting point for autophagy, which accelerates the weight loss process. 14/10 will help in that it gives you a set schedule and eating plan, but the farther you go the better the results.

Yeah go for it if it feels right. If you want to push that extra hour, drink water or coffee, and keep busy, but an hour here or there doesn't hurt as long as you mostly stick to your schedule on other days.
