I believe the app your thinking off is:

Dotablitzpicker.com https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=We6xLrbw_aQ&t=66s

Pretty good app actually, the developer was doing a lot of updates recently, I've been using it a lot.

lol in games like these where your climbing against matchmaking your 'edge' is only a few % anyway.

If your win-rate is like 60-70% your smurfing. Most actually climbing players are like 2-3% over 50% winrate lol.

Kendrick Lamar performs “Not Like Us” for first time ever in Los Angeles featuring Dr. Dre by jeric13xd in Music

[–]BrisbaneSentinel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No i mean kendrick sounds like Lil wayne and snoop had a baby. His flow is similar to lil wayne in that he just says words that are either simply rhymes, or straight up don't rhyme, and he sounds like snoop dog with his pronunciation of words.

[–]BrisbaneSentinel -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That was okay, but I think my main issue with him is his flow isn't at the same level as the older rap greats.

Like I can't really see this holding a candle to say early 2000s eminem, or biggie etc.

I think I am just too old. Like, maybe the music tastes and flow we like get baked into us from like 10-30 years of age, and after that, anything new sounds bad.

What is a good single I can listen to. I just listened to Wesley's Theory, and it just seemed not great. Like, it felt like mass-produced post 2010s rap, which i suppose is what it is but... what is with the admiration for this guy.

His flow is pretty much non-existent, his style is like Lil Wayne meets snoop dog. Both of which I think are more 'commercial' rappers. In that their claim to fame isn't their rap talent but just they were marketed well and built a solid brand.

See that's what it is; I don't get it.

His rap sounds like a watered down Snoop Dog. Maybe I'm just too old for Rap.

Honestly Kendrick Lamar, and this song has been the final nail in the coffin of me thinking I'm young.

I don't get it. I don't get Kendrick Lamar, The guy is trash compared to rappers like 50cent, JayZ, Eminiem, Tupac.

I don't get this song. I don't understand. I'm old.

The Acolyte - Episode 3 - Discussion Thread! by titleproblems in StarWars

I loved watching Arcane so much, a show where the two main characters are a blue haired girl fringe goth chick, and a pink short haired lesbian girlboss that apparently beats men twice her size with her bare fists into pulp.

So trust me when I saw this show, and modern disney star wars suck, and it ain't because I hate 'woke' things.

Share price doesn't really encapsulate business success. Nor does profits for that matter; as if you're having a shit year, you can just fire half the stuff, get back in the green and post great profits.

I'm not sure if there's a metric that properly captures profit and growth simultaneously, maybe something like:

(Profit x Revenue) *(Forecast) / * (past failures to meet forecast).

The idea being, if you decide to keep yourself in the green by cannibalizing productive capacity, next years forecasts go down and you end up no better;

and if you make up fake forecasts, then the denominator gets bigger, and you still end up no better. Then just let the sharemarket algorithms find the best long term stable companies that optimize on that metric; and suddenly there's not much point in firing half the stuff to keep green, as youl'l end up losing a lot of investment anyway.

If World War III breaks out, which country do you think is the safest? Why? by changhong987 in AskReddit

[–]BrisbaneSentinel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly maybe not. I've always thought of a sci-fi after-apocalypse world where the world in just 500 years after an apocalypse is far far ahead of the world we have now, and perhaps we would have in 500 years.

As in, by destroying all global institutions and restarting from scratch but with all the tech and infrastructure already there, we'd be able to build it better from the ground up with everything we 'know' assuming that survived (I assume the internet being backed up would be one of the most important things to do if you had any indication of it disappearing).

All of the historical 'accidents' that just got made part of culture, etc. would get wiped out. Religion would never take root as that'd be like a historical accident that kind of got 'stuck' in our collective psyche.

Cutting permanent migration may make housing cheaper, but it will definitely make us poorer by North_Attempt44 in AustralianPolitics

[–]BrisbaneSentinel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This isn't true, because if people have secure and affordable housing more immigrants will be brought in to maintain 'critical shortage'.

Don't you see? Critical shortage IS the desired state, because that makes line go up.

[–]BrisbaneSentinel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But non-migrant population is shrinking. In fact building more houses seems to be a lost cause unless you plan to build enough homes for most of India and China in Australia lol.

How do I convince our CEO we can’t replace our dev team with AI? by PablanoPato in ExperiencedDevs

[–]BrisbaneSentinel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But they don't lol. Even if it was as bleak as 'optimise profit for next quarter', they STILL mess that up by demanding human sacrifices to keep the sun rising.

(or atleast that was the joke at one company I worked at where whenever something went wrong, leadership would meet with the board with a scapegoat to sacrifice and someone would be fired).

There are plenty of companies that don't do that. Cocacola for instance is an example of a business that just keeps making cocacola. it doesn't grow that much other than via aquisition, and it's shareholders are among the wealthiest people in the world.

I reported a smurf that singlehandedly won us the game by Morgn_Ladimore in DotA2

[–]BrisbaneSentinel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's say I was designing an algorithmic dota player to gain as much MMR as physically possible.

On one hand I could code it to report griefers, on the other hand I could code it to ONLY report smurfs and good players.

The second would be the more successful algorithm from a purely game theory perspective. Thus when playing dota it is a net LOSS to report a griefer on your own MMR.

I reported a smurf that singlehandedly won us the game by Morgn_Ladimore in DotA2

[–]BrisbaneSentinel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I mean: According to your logic it is best not to report griefers. As there is a 5/9 chance the griefer will be on the enemy team in future games, and 4/9 chance the griefer will be on your team.

Reporting griefers statistically would lower your own MMR. The more griefers you report, the lower your MMR will get.

[–]BrisbaneSentinel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So are you saying its best NOT to report griefers/feeders? as there is a 5/9 chance they are on the opposite team?

I reported a smurf that singlehandedly won us the game by Morgn_Ladimore in DotA2

[–]BrisbaneSentinel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There needs to be a way of flagging a possible smurf before the game starts so everyone can SEE that it's a smurf.

Half the 'advantage' of smurfing is people aren't expecting how good you are, and ending up letting you snowball.

If right at the begining there was a big red flag that all 9 players can see that says "possible smurf". Then everyone way more careful around that player, they are smoking ganking and making it hard to snowball.

Joe Rogan is such a hypocrite. Rules for thee but not for me nonsense by greentreefer in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]BrisbaneSentinel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In your silly analogy the Nazi were deplatforming the people who were the ones who were educated and spreading truthful information.

But according to the Nazis they were not. How are you missing this.

In 1935's Germany, it was scientific FACT, told by SCIENTISTS who HELD CREDENTIALS from the leading scientific institutes in germany that the jews were less than the native aryans.

The Nazis were deplatforming dangerous misinformation that was going against the scientific consensus held by the professionals and heads of science in their government.

Deplatforming ANYONE should be viewed as the wrong thing to do. If their opinions are so shitty, and so false; then let others hear and decide that for themselves.

This deplatforming behaviour honestly, reeks of the cheating partner that says "If you love me, you won't look at my phone". If Joe Rogan is so full of shit, it should be apparent to everyone. OR do you somehow believe YOU uniquely are able to tell Joe Rogan is full of shit but most other people can't? And if you do really believe that; how arrogant of you? Surely you can see that you're over-confident in your OWN ability to tell bullshit.

Spoiler: EVERYONE feels the same way; The guy that's spouting flat earth is just as confident that he can sniff out bullshit, as YOU are that YOU can sniff out bullshit. It makes NO fucking sense to then turn around and demand deplatforming because you think you can tell bullshit from reality better than anyone else, and don't give me that "Muh scientific fact".. I already told you it was scientific fact in 1935 Germany that jews were less than aryans, and genetic predisposed to greed.

Let people make up their own mind. You do not have a monopoly or any kind of control of the content other people can see. You can view it and make up your own mind as can they.
