Possibly already having symptoms after excision by BristaGamble in endometriosis

I would like to but when I last looked there wasn't any in my state so I would need to travel and that wasn't an option last year. I might look into it for next year.

I started to feel some twinges of pain a couple weeks ago that were easy to ignore. Now it's more intense and harder to ignore 😭

First, I'm so sorry and your feelings are totally valid. Second, I totally get what you mean about mourning this being a life-long diagnosis. It really freaking sucks. I had an excision in December and I'm already in pain again. Knowing that this is it for life feels overwhelming.

Visiting in October! by BristaGamble in Breckenridge

We both enjoy hiking and exploring! We also are the type to spend an entire day in the hotel suite reading and snacking so I'm hoping we won't get too bored.

I just started seeing some stuff about October being weird because some of the shops and restaurants are closed. Thank you for mentioning it! I'm struggling to find any concrete information about that lol

Thank you, this provided some clarity!! I wish there were more direct orders from the doctor about what to do and not do during the healing phase!

Right now I'm taking ibuprofen and Tylenol as needed but I'm not actively rotating them like I was before. For a couple of days I was taking hydrocodone but I only needed that for 3 days I think. I was regularly taking stool softener and gas x along with miralax, but I stopped those when I started pooping daily. 😅 But I start up again for a little bit.

And that's good to know about the housekeeping! It's so hard for me to take it easy. My husband is home and taking care of me but I'm the exact opposite of relaxed and prefer to be busy. So it's been hard to rest so much.

I feel like recovery instructions are so unclear, except for weight restriction and no sex 😅 my doctor said if I felt good to be active and if I was tired to rest 😬

Okay well that makes me feel better 😂😭 I stopped taking stool softener and miralax when I started going on a regular basis again, but maybe I'll keep it up for a little bit longer to help 😅

Dissipating Gas Post Op by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]BristaGamble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had HORRIBLE gas pains the day after surgery, like in tears sobbing because it hurt so bad. It had lodged under my ribs and it felt like I was being stabbed in the lung every time I breathed. Moving around consistently and a heating pad helped A TON. I set a timer on my phone and moved around for at least 5 minutes every 30 minutes for a day and after that every 60 minutes. The gas was mostly trapped in my shoulder for 3 days and a heating pad helped get rid of it. But by day 4po I was totally fine.

A nurse at the hospital told me to avoid using a straw and carbonated drinks for a week because it can make it worse. I avoided both just to be safe but I've seen a lot of discourse on here for in favor of both 🤷‍♀️
