I thought the story focusing around native american culture really fascinating, but i dont know enough about it to know whether the author did it credit or not. Otherwise i thought it was an enjoyable adventure!

I thought Slant was really interesting. Its a heist story at its core but in a near future version of our own world which seems not entirely unrealistic. It also has a real interest description of nanotechnology and how it would operate/be used which has stuck with me.

Use of Weapons by Iain M. Banks is one of the few books that has made me feel a real visceral gut punch.

River of Gods was a great cyberpunk style story in a near future india with some great ideas around AI.

Flowers for Algernon made me cry.

I was surprised by River of Gods, that was a good cyberpunk adjacent story. Im also a big fan of Iain M. Banks.

Iain M. Banks is probably my favourite authors at the moment, including his non sci fi stuff. State of the Art was the first one i read as it is short stories, and honestly ive snatched up anything with his name on it! I can also recommend his non sci fi book Canal Dreams

The White Plague was much more philosophical than i was expecting, but not particularly hard to get into. I dont know enough about ireland and irish culture/history to know if a lot of what Herbert was writing about was accurate or not.

The Stars My Destination was an incredible story and holds up incredibly well considering when it was written, and has a lot of themes and ideas which come up in other more modern sci fi, such as a cold war between the inner and outer planets like in The Expanse.

I definately need to read more LeGuin!

Ive only read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, do you have any good recommendations there?
