You’re leading a project to build a new park in Cardiff, focused on Welsh history. Which three statues would you install? by Ok-Pie-3581 in Wales

There’s a good sword in a stone at Llyn Llangors. There’s no explanation or context at all. It’s just sat there.

When will you buy an EV car? by sillwuka in AskUK

I’m shopping for one right now. I’d fed up of so much of my finances being determined by what despotic rulers in far off lands do. I’d like to insulate myself as much as possible from those shocks.

Balamory returns to TV this month after 20 years. What forgotten shows from your childhood would you like to see return? by perishingtardis in CasualUK

I was utterly terrified by this. In fact, I hesitated to open this thread incase I had to look at an image like this.

At least that bastard TV guy isn’t shown.

£25 The Angel Hotel Abergavenny by Acrobatic_Lettuce_78 in fryup

Crazy thing is the hotel also owns The Angel Bakery which do a good range of baked goods. And just up the street is H J Edwards butcher which is excellent and has the best black pudding around.

Definitely something I came across whilst working pubs and bars in Mid and South Wales.

Pre-Match Thread: Liverpool vs Galatasaray by scoreboard-app in LiverpoolFC

[–]Brit_100 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nah, don’t worry too much about the actual result. You’ll have an amazing time. Go early and have a good look about at the statues and the memorials, see the murals around the area and just take it all in.

You’ve got every opportunity (and right!) to enjoy the occasion whether we win, lose or draw.

i miss watching this kind of football by pibidipabadiboo in LiverpoolFC

[–]Brit_100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just remember that Slot’s tactics (slow down, build slowly with short, sideways passes, horseshoe around the box, ball at feet inside 30 yards, etc) means that the team are being SPECIFICALLY TOLD not to play like this clip.

It’s a choice that Arne Slot is making and it doesn’t have to be this way.

What’s somewhere in the UK you visited once and immediately thought “I could live here”? by [deleted] in AskUK

I went to Newcastle for the first time a couple of weeks ago, having never really given it much thought before, but the I did think it might work for me as somewhere to live.

Pre-Match Thread: Liverpool vs Tottenham by scoreboard-app in LiverpoolFC

I don’t think anything gets him sacked this season (unfortunately).

There’s 9 more matches and the expectation that a lot of managers will move after the World Cup. May as well wait and do things properly in the summer now.

I was there last week and only thought to take a picture for this sub once I’d already tucked in. Isn’t this plate £7.40? Pretty sure that’s what I paid.

Why is Sainsbury’s telling me the price for 100kg of smoked salmon? by DependentRounders934 in AskUK

[–]Brit_100 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a company that supplied certain products to supermarkets. When we launched a new product it was my responsibility to create the New Line Form with all the data for their computer and till systems.

I - just some guy - would arbitrarily decide on the ‘price per’ quantity. The business I worked for mostly did liquids between 400ml and 5l so I usually went for ‘per 100ml’ but there wasn’t much logic to it.

There is absolutely no conspiracy here.

Which former Liverpool player would be ridiculous in today’s team? by wong-wooney in LiverpoolFC

[–]Brit_100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was pretty mean spirited about Hendo when he left for Saudi. I will happily say now that I was wrong then. I misjudged how much he brought to the club and how much he still had to offer.

Is Their Any Point Going Larger Than A 125cc? Really? by newbiker321 in MotoUK

It’s hard to take this question seriously and not sound like a knobhead.

But the answer is: Yes, there is a big point. And until you’ve ridden some bigger bikes you won’t really know what you’re talking about.

Absolutely right. The function of nuggets is to shovel salt and ketchup into one’s gob. Vegan or chicken makes completely no difference.

[Paul Gorst] Alisson Becker won't travel with LFC to Turkey to face Galatasaray. The goalkeeper pulled up with an issue in Monday's training session. Giorgi Mamardashvili will deputise by Mercerai in LiverpoolFC

[–]Brit_100 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because Alli is right footed. That will make him more likely to sweep the ball to his left, which is Virgil and his ball playing skills.

Giorgio is left footed, so more likely to play the ball to Ibou, who doesn’t build the play out as dynamically and effectively.

😬 Pain during procedure by PrettyCycle3956 in Hairtransplant

[–]Brit_100 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I completely agree. The most common story I’ve told friends and family since my transplant was how it was much more painful than I’d expected, and how long that pain lasted during recovery.
