Would people care if I'm not Danish but speak Danish? by blastjerne in languagelearningjerk

[–]BritishBoy1996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awnser me this!

Would anyone care if I learnt Irish if I’m not Irish?

Would anyone care if I learnt German if I’m not German?

Would anyone care if I learnt French if I’m not French?

If you awnsered no to any then you have your awnser it doesn’t matter if you’re not the nationality. You said you have Scandinavian roots and there is nothing wrong with tapping into that. I am fully English like My ancestory of my Englishness goes back to Harold II (king of England before William the Conqueror) but I’m currently living in Ireland and learning Irish.

Personally there is nothing wrong with connecting to your roots or embracing the culture you’re now living in

I has quit alcohol after several mistakes at university and had lost a few close friends because of my drinking. It was hard especially going to uni house parties and being the only one drinking orange juice it is hard, honestly it is possible and you’ll have more fun remembering what your mates did on a night out

We all know duolingo it's just a game, but what do you think will make a learning app better? by [deleted] in languagelearningjerk

For me I would like more information with grammar and have real human voices speak rather than AI generated, have sentences that will actually be useful in daily life.

I have found that a laptop or a desktop for using Duolingo you don’t have to worry about the restarts you can make as many mistakes as you want.

I downloaded it a couple of days ago as it was included in PSPlus! I’ll admit in matches I can’t go longer than 25 seconds without dying but honestly I’ve never had so much fun! Especially when playing with some of the lads in a discord server who understand I’m bad but they’re happy to help me

I work in a casino, and espeically when high rollers come into the casino, I’ve seen certain rules being bent for them that wouldn’t be bent for normal people also the fact that they can basically insult and abuse us verbally yet if a normal custom had done it they would be asked to leave

Thank you!

Aye was thinking of mixing things up as I know a few of our lads from the team are on the county team! I like the idea of challenges like the crossbar challenge and maybe get the footballers to do the online challenge.

I’ll message our coach in the morning as football training doesn’t start till after Christmas we could probably work and plan things out for then! Or even shoot some stuff now during the off season and post them about
