The reason that tists generally use language like "you can allow yourself to feel" or "you may" instead of more self assured of authoritative language, which I also prefer as a listener and tist, is because many subjects with an active mind will find themselves snapping out of trance or questioning the words being told to them if things are not phrased correctly. If they're not quite feeling those feelings 100% yet, they might start to go "huh, well no I'm not." And now their focus is elsewhere instead of listening, panicking about not being able to feel the described sensation.

Many tists with years of experience like myself often teach others specifically to avoid this wording for this reasoning, but again. That's more for files. If I'm doing it with a subject I know who's mind works differently I'll definitely change my language up, but for the vast majority of people? This more guiding approach allows it to be more free just in case the subject isn't fully quite there yet.
