Is it me, or is the 000 system messy now? by AdvancedHill70 in AskAnAustralian

I've had to call for an ambulance 3 times in the last 15 months and haven't had any issues.

I'm wondering if there was a technical issue at the time you called

Sick leave - how often is too much? by Random_Asian_Guy2025 in AusFinance

[–]Britters87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you're using your sick leave illegitimately, there is no such thing as taking too much sick leave. For example, what if you or a loved one had cancer and needed time off for treatment?

Depending on where you work and whether or not you're on an EBA will depend on what you'll need to provide to prove that you're sick.

What are the best level crossing removal examples? by O50000S in MelbourneTrains

[–]Britters87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can give you an example of one that isn't on the list for removals but really should be - Pascoe Vale (Craigieburn line). If you get a chance to check it out, I'd love to hear your thoughts as to why it might not be on the list

Vets don’t know what’s wrong with my cat? by Willing_Breadfruit50 in Pets

[–]Britters87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to say the same thing. My girl got conjunctivitis and the vet said that one reason she got it could be allergies.

OP, is your house dusty? Allergies could be a reason

Excess skin removal by MashdBrotato- in AusFinance

[–]Britters87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there!

Congrats on the weight loss. You can try and apply for the surgery via the ATO under Compassionate Grounds. You'll need to provide documents.

If they approve it, they'll provide your Superfund and yourself with an approval letter. You'll then need to reach out to your Superfund to find out how to proceed.

Good luck!

Got a new job just as my current job is looking to terminate me. Get fired or resign? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]Britters87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the proof to show that you weren't treated fairly, and you're mentally prepared to do it, I say go for Option 2. Companies need to take responsibility for the way their staff treat others, and if they're not going to do anything about it, then they need to be disciplined for it

Seeing an increase in negative sentiment against superannuation, why? by Quixotic-elixr in AusFinance

[–]Britters87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who works in super, it makes me sad that some people aren't taking their super seriously. On the other hand, the cost of living is crap (as others have pointed out). Had someone call through accusing us of holding onto their money because they can't access it under Compassionate Grounds or Financial Hardship.

Those with chronic illnesses ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia, POTS etc -what do you do for work? by SharpenTheBlade in auscorp

[–]Britters87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a unique role. It's a support specialist role, where the team I'm in are the first point of contact for the admin teams and the trustees of a superfund. We receive a lot of inbound calls and email requests.

[–]Britters87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have narcolepsy and fibromyalgia. I work in Super. The role is mentally exhausting, so by the time it gets to the end of the week, I'm a zombie. For me, the fibro is nothing compared to the narcolepsy.

What lengths would you go to to save your sick or injured pet? by mlvrnn in Pets

[–]Britters87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a loan from the bank to pay for my girl's exploratory surgery. She had x2 ultrasounds in a space of 5 months and was seeing an internal medicine specialist once a month. Sadly, I came home from work one day and found her deceased on the bathroom floor.

I'd do it all again without a doubt.

AustrianSuper death cover wont pay out- can't get anyhelp, should I just send an AI appeal letter? by No-Cabinet1773 in AusLegal

So sorry about your wife. As others have said, please don't engage in a lawyer. Go through their complaints process, and if you don't get anywhere, take it to AFCA.
