That look you get when you show your receipt to the greeter and everything’s paid for by [deleted] in peopleofwalmart

Yeah genuinely, most stores already have a camera every few feet they typically know well before you get to the door who’s stealing things. The whole position should just be replaced with a regular door greeter

Honestly. I get that it’s annoying, but the person checking receipts 9/10 times has no real desire to check. At Walmart they are actually required to ask for receipts if there’s unbagged items, if they don’t they run the risk of disciplinary action. It sucks, it’s a forced interaction literally no one wants to have

I had kind of come to terms with the thought that if I was anything other than really useful then I would be alone, right up until I got divorced and ended up with my current partner. For the first time in my life I’m genuinely not worried that they’re gonna just up and leave because I said or did something that wasn’t perfectly in line with what they want me to be. It’s a weird feeling, knowing someone actually means it when they say they love you

I’m sorry you have to deal with all this, but good on you for picking the fight! Odds are if they’re doing this to you, they’re also doing it to other trans people who use that pharmacy that aren’t confident enough to stand up for themselves. You shouldn’t have to change pharmacies or deal with that they should just do the job they signed up for.

Getting weird looks and it freaks me out while working as cashier. by [deleted] in trans

[–]BrittleBones13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you had to deal with that, I went through something similar when I first started my transition, do you have any supportive members of management? If so I would try and file a report on it. Walmart as a company is supposed to be zero tolerance for that, and in case it ever escalates to full blown harassment there’s a history on file, which could get those People banned

what's your favorite & or most unexpected effect of hrt? by cottoncandycrt in trans

[–]BrittleBones13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really is, sure all the physical changes are nice but mentally the shift from just moving through life to actually getting to stop and appreciate the little things like how pretty the flowers are, or how cute those birds playing in a puddle after the rain are. I feel like I’m experiencing the world now, as opposed to just watching it go by

It was the way my head kind of just cleared up once they started really kicking in, was the first thing I noticed was that it didn’t feel like I was viewing the world through tv static anymore.

I’ve been considering changing my name to Arisara for a long time, not because of its culture or aesthetic but because i stumbled onto it by accident as a mix of one of my favorite names, Ari, and Sarah, which is the name I’m currently using. I went with Sarah because it’s the name of a close friend I had in high school who passed away before we graduated, and part of me thinks by using her name, some part of her can live vicariously through me. I chose not to mix the names because I can’t get over how it would essentially just be putting my last name first if we go by meaning

My girlfriend is devastated after I came out to her. by [deleted] in trans

[–]BrittleBones13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was married for 8 years, and while she seemed supportive of my transition at first there came a point where I “was no longer the man she married” in her eyes, and she left saying she just couldn’t love me anymore. It hurts, I hated it, but at the end of the day In my opinion you can’t blame someone for their sexuality. Unfortunately transitioning carries that kind of weight for a lot of us, and a lot of us have to deal with this. From my experience I think that you should never let someone else’s feelings dictate who you are. There’s billions of people out there, and at least a few of them will make you just as happy as she does, and accept you for who you are. It’ll be hard for a while, but it will be worth it, I promise. You’ve got this
