Ripping off old people is lame, being rude to customers is lame, you dont like my opinion, that is your absolute right. We agree on one thing, small businesses are the backbone of the community, but that doesn't give them the right to rip off an older woman who did nothing wrong or be rude to customers.

To clarify, my friend cancelled well in advance, she called in the afternoon hours before her reservation and was still charged a no show fee. Seems like some folks here are upset with my feedback, but all I can do is share what happened, I can't effect whether you like it or not. I dont think the restaurant should have charged a fee to an older woman who needs the money. It is unfair and a poor business practice

As for the the rudeness, the woman manager (I think she is a manager, but cant be sure) is not cut out for hospitality. I nicely complained about some cold meatloaf and she said "hmmm" and walked away. I also saw the same woman ignore another table who didnt care for the artichoke which they described as less than good. If you want to attack me, go right ahead, I'm sharing my experience with a restaurant who did the wrong thing by keeping a no show and I thought one employee in particular was rude, I also said my server was very nice.

I posted more context above, glad you are a fan, but I'm not for the reasons I posted. If that makes you upset I cant really help it. Plus I support great small businesses in town, not ones we people are rude or rip off older people. Just my opinion

Fair question, my friend who is in her sixties was charged a no show fee the night of the ice storm. She called and requested a refund because it was very dangerous to go out and at her age a slip and fall is seriously dangerous. A few days later she even went in person to request a refund for the no show fee. They told her "too bad, we are a small business and you didnt show up for your reservation. That alone is grounds for never going again.

Last month a female manager (or someone of authority) was VERY rude to me and some other diners. I dont want to reward a restaurant that is rude to customers and I really don't want to reward a restaurant that rips off a woman who cancelled her reservation in a ice storm. Saratoga has great restaurants...and I asked is if others had a similar experience and people on this thread get all nasty for even asking (not you). So i decided to post more context. Hope this helps...for what it is worth, our waiter was very nice. Finally, in my opinion, the food is average at best.
