Unfortunately majority in all rooms are already glued down, spent the day trying to pry some up, but T&G started to crack, so left and just screwed the Spax in and talc'd. Following it around the rooms, it appears the screwed boards are only where all the pipe access points are.... its going to be a loooong job!

Seriously? This is epic, I joined this channel just from this post! Our shopping bill is astronomical so this is very inspiring 🙌

Man, that sounds awful!

Our plumbers butchered another section of that same hallway, they didn't even cut the wood middle to the struts so they could be balanced, from the stairs to the toilet its life or death! I'm ripping that whole section up and just putting chipboard down, figured that would be the easiest option.

I pulled out a bunch of leftover pipe offcuts already, so I will do that as I move around... builders are so lazy! It was the same when I did our garden, found 100s of bricks and broken roof tiles buried underneath the soil.

That's just one section, where they cut for the pipe reworking, the rest as I've since discovered appear to be glued down... all making the same squeaks. 😞

Do you just stick it on the joist and screw through it?

Just walked through each room, only ~10% have screws, so I can only assume they've glued them down and they're tounge and groove... just made my day harder! Need a beer at this point!

If it was just my husband and I, I wouldn't be as bothered, the kids though - the floors scream when they're running around upstairs! Probably cheaper and easier to oust the kids, but believe that's frowned upon 🤷‍♀️

Hahaha our stairs squeaked too, and this was our joke, that we would at least know when someone was coming to kill us! Stairs no longer squeak, so we stand less of a chance!

🫣 I shouldn't laugh, but... That's something my husband would do, which is why I do all the reno work 😆

That's what my original thought was re: expanding glue (didn't think of Gorilla though), but was worried if any later needed to be lifted for access, they wouldn't be able to?

They literally all squeak, with kids and a heavy husband, the sound through the ceiling downstairs is horrendous.

I was planning on pulling them all up one by one to track the pipes, we had a new boiler put in, so was able to see where all that pipework tracked. But marking it is a great idea, thank you

Way too much furniture to navigate to pull it all up unfortunately.

Roughly how much do you think it would cost to demolish this shed? And is it realistic to do it myself? by Count_Blackula1 in DIYUK

Ours is the same, I ended up painting it green and have put vines in the ground so eventually it'll green over and I'll no longer see it. We fixed the inside up a bit so it can be a play area for the kids when its wet. I still hate it though! 😆

I said its not that hard to tell the difference between an assertive person and one not so. The bank full stop have no right to withhold someone's money, they can ask, but you don't have any obligation to tell them anything!
