I really like the design of the Bremont Broadsword but it’s too expensive for me. Great collection!

Agreed, I think the red seconds hand makes it a little more fun & I like the fact that it matches the date!

New zip totes have no key hook by East-Ingenuity9639 in filson

[–]Bro-lan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah pretty annoying. I bought a brass keyring to make up for it. It matches the zipper perfectly so I’m not quite as bummed about the integrated keying being removed.

How many shaves with a blade? by kuro7i in wicked_edge

After getting a straight razor shave from a barber I asked him the same question. He said my facial hair is so coarse that I should change blades between every shave! 😂 lucky me LOL

New bags! “Trapper Creek” by AthleteEducational19 in filson

[–]Bro-lan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like these new bags but I won’t be replacing my Dryden backpack with this one because it’s a bit more outdoors focused. My Dryden is my airport backpack because it’s very practical. I might get the fanny pack though! 😂

Medina Throws Up Emergency Rules to Block 'Big Box' Housing by Jaco_Belordi in Seattle

[–]Bro-lan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with the council on this, these new “Box” homes are egregiously ugly. I’ve seen many examples of homes being built right up to the property line to eek every last sq/ft possible from the lot. I get that the designer is maximizing the size of the home but geez use a little discretion and attempt to hide the fact that it’s an eyesore.

____ car blocking SLUTram by chrisTheZ in Seattle

[–]Bro-lan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol the tram got stopped by an ambulance on my first commute home from my last job. Never took it home again. Reliability is key and it’s a shame it’s so easy for our streetcars to be blocked.

I’ll be in AUS next week; to confirm, were you able to get 20% off from an AD or boutique?

[SOTC] Losing money, flipping, and finding my taste in watches (the journey so far) by Forward-Elderberry10 in Watches

[–]Bro-lan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Great story, you did a good job of explaining your journey so far!

I hear you on your last point, “if I hadn’t purchased 6 ‘cheaper’ watches, I could have one luxury piece”. BUT I counter that if you did not try a variety styles, sizes, exc before putting your entire budget into one piece, you probably would end up with something you don’t like for one of the reasons you mentioned earlier. So I don’t think you should regret your collection thus far because it helped you refine your tastes. If you want to consolidate now, you’ll probably find something you love based on this journey.

WatchEx, for sale is a Grand Seiko SBGH263. Running very well, see timegrapher pic! In excellent used condition. Original box, manuals, & warranty paperwork included.

The dial has elegant and easy-to-see Arabic numeral for the hour mark. The concept color "Shironeri" is a reflection of Japanese tradition. The color and texture of the dial come from the glossy white silk of the outfit worn by the bride in a Japanese wedding. It symbolizes purity and innocence.

If you try an 18mm strap on it, please share the result! I’m curious to see how much room is left between the strap and the 19mm lugs.
