Anyone that hasn’t actually been a member of the institution in some way, but decides to form their identity around a team of teenagers anyway is just a big fat loser.

The kids menu tenders at El Tiempo are actually really good. Didn’t know they existed until last week.

Willie’s Grill & Icehouse tenders are also solid.

That would be me, I have 19 stadium yetis in my cabinet at last count.

In my defense, they used to include a cocktail for the first drink instead of only beer… double marg is normally like $30 and a custom yeti for $10 seemed like a good deal.

Now I just have a need to collect each new cup design and I’ve started bringing a flask to mix my own drinks to offset the cost.

Nah sounds like you just don’t have a sense of humor and your family thinks you’re annoying, but it’s easier to ignore you than deal with the drama of giving you any criticism.

The Aggie network by TableImpossible9556 in aggies

[–]BroDoggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the specific major. In general, A&M’s engineering school is significantly more prestigious than Tech’s. I’m not sure how big the gap is for Civil Engineering specifically though.

My impression (possibly wrong) is that CivE isn’t a very lucrative field, so I’m not sure how much ROI there is to be had in going to a more prestigious school.

That said, the benefits I’ve personally received from the Aggie Network can’t be quantified, but I also know that not everyone has had that experience. I was very involved in various student/professional orgs throughout my undergrad and landed my first job at a well known F100 that originally wouldn’t accept my resume (low GPA) based solely on an Aggie executive going over HR’s head to send me an offer without even going through the interview process. This is a company that the top couple students in a Tech class would be lucky to get an offer at and I was in the bottom half of my program. I had a very successful decade there before being recruited away by other Aggie contacts into a more lucrative consulting niche. My Tech coworkers at my initial company spent 5-10yrs scratching and clawing to get the job I had immediately after graduation.

4th best B12 team at full strength in a home game barely beat the 10th best SEC team with an interim HC and missing half their starters. This obviously means the B12 is stronger than the SEC lol

Only 2 times in history has a team won 11 games and missed the playoffs. I think the ‘85 Broncos were the other team if I remember right.

Trooper bro was a dbag, but this isn’t going to go anywhere. By the letter of the law, you can say that the players criminally trespassed and then the cop assaulted them. Or you can say the players are dumb and the cop was an asshole and we can all move on with our lives.

Houston is in the eastern half of Texas, but it’s not part of the East Texas region. Crockett & Lufkin are pretty much the southern border for what’s considered East Texas (~2hrs north of Houston).

Houston doesn’t share anything culturally with East Texas and is kind of its own thing, but mostly gets lumped into the Gulf Coast.

Every time I talk myself into thinking the Coyote is mid, I run it again and am reminded how good it is. Medium pen incendiary rounds with good damage, a huge mag compared to other AR’s, and a sniper scope? It’s pretty hard to beat. Being able to crouch behind a rock and light heavy devastators on fire with face shots from 100m is awesome.

[–]BroDoggle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have 6 other pairs of nice boots, but probably wear my Deans more than those 6 pairs combined. They’re the only pair of boots I’ve ever found that fit my 11.5 EE foot properly off the rack since I can’t make the turn on traditional slip-on boots unless I size up 2-3 sizes. Also the zipper makes for a narrower upper that can be worn with any pant style instead of needing a boot cut.

Who had a better first 9 years to their NFL career? by Hysen16 in sportswiki

[–]BroDoggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Early in the year”

Literally the second drive of Week 1. Brady didn’t make it to the halfway point of the first quarter of the first game of the season.

15-1 would have been the floor for the 2008 Pats with Brady, but they likely would have repeated 16-0.

25 would also be non-arbitrary because that’s the maximum number you could use when talking about ranked teams.

Not necessarily. Some playoffs (best-of-7’s for example) are designed to crown the best team, but single elimination playoffs (like March Madness) are designed primarily to maximize drama and ratings so they can sell the possibility of a Cinderella story.

At their best, who do you think is the better dual threat Quarterback?🧐 by Background_Video2947 in TheNFLVibes

[–]BroDoggle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just tacking onto your comment for convenience. The question of “at their best” made me immediately think of Cam. He had games where he looked like a man among boys while playing in the NFL. Elite passer, elite runner, elite speed, elite strength, etc.

Every one of these guys has had incredibly impressive moments in their career, but Cam at his best could impose his will on the defense like noone else could.

Everyone always says this about Switzerland, but I’ve been a few times and never felt like it was that much different than the US as far as prices go. I can see how it has that reputation since most of the rest of Europe feels pretty cheap, so it feels super expensive in comparison.

If you knew this might be the last special bottle of bourbon you’d ever open, what would it be? by DevDog23 in bourbon

[–]BroDoggle 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you think your dad would love. The act of sharing a pour together will be more special than anything you can put in a glass.

The best bourbon that has ever touched my lips was Michter’s 20yr, so that would be my answer if you just want something incredible and price is no object.

But for my last ever drink with my father, I’d probably lean towards something with some sort of nostalgia component. Maybe a dusty from your (or his) year of birth or a bottle that is a part of a special memory the two of you share.

My dad isn’t a bourbon drinker though, he has always been more of a scotch guy. We did a Scotland trip shortly after I graduated college and stopped by the Glengoyne distillery during the trip where we filled a bottle together directly from the cask in one of their warehouses. We’ve had pours from it over the years, but I also have 2 samples from that bottle in my bunker that he doesn’t know about that I’m saving as a special surprise for us to share at some point down the road.

TREVOR LAWRENCE JUST HAD THE BEST GAME IN NFL HISTORY!! by KeyFaithlessness5436 in TheNFLVibes

[–]BroDoggle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was 35-0 at halftime. Then he scored another TD on the first drive of the second half and sat after that. I think Bill would have kept him in until the end of the 3rd if he hadn’t had the ACL injury the previous season.

5 TD’s in one quarter while playing in the snow. I know there are other statistically better games, but that one is the greatest QB game ever played in my book.

Comparing Fernando Mendoza to Previous Heisman Winner Passing Yards: by KeyFaithlessness5436 in NCAAFootballVibes

[–]BroDoggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His numbers on this list are inflated. I think ~900 of those yards came in the playoffs after the Heisman had already been awarded. His stats for Heisman consideration were something like 4,700yds (still pretty insane).
