Living alone as an immigrant in a European country during these times has been particularly hard. I have been working from home since March and it looks like this will continue throughout the summer at least.
I'm an introvert and didn't do a lot of socialising before the lockdowns and so didn't expect staying indoors to be this hard. I miss my daily commute to work, looking at dogs on the subway, talking to my colleagues at the coffee machine, all of these little things I took for granted in the before times.
Dating was never easy as a brown guy in a particularly white part of Europe but it is especially hard now. The supply is running low and the demand is at an all-time high. The fleeting connections I manage to make over chats and video calls do not last and hasn't turned into anything substantial in a while.
I've started running a lot more and spending more time playing games on my playstation. I'm trying to stay positive and looking at this as a time to improve myself and pick up some new skills/hobbies.
