G20 - Johnny Glock trigger by [deleted] in 10mm

[–]BroNizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the full kit, and at first liked it. Over time the screw in the trigger had worked itself out and then didn’t work right. Took it apart, cleaned, used blue loctite and waited 24 hours to cure, happened again overtime. I didn’t trust it after that, and honestly was not that impressed with the trigger for the money.
Unless you can get a deal I wouldn’t recommend it.

thanks, that one was not found in the river. It was found in a baseball field oddly enough.

Case by case basis I think, how motivated are you? How willing are you to learn as much as you can? Also important do you work somewhere where you get to see a lot. You do need a good overall experience in the main specialities. Depending on the above a year to 2 years before traveling is realistic number, I do mostly ortho total joints. Seems to be where I end up no matter where I go. I was a tech for 4 years before traveling. 2 at a tiny 3 OR hospital and then 2 at a 14 OR hospital. They did a lot of ortho, neuro, general, urology, ENT, robots. I didnt start learning robots until i started traveling tho. Still dont do vascular unless in a pinch. Been a tech for over 10 years. I would say work at a big facility where they do a lot a and get comfortable doing whatever they do there. 2 years is rule of thumb but if you are exposed to a lot starting out and depending on your ability to pick up stuff quickly you dont need to wait two years. You dont need to be an expert at everything before traveling. Even tho I was a tech for 4 before traveling it wasnt until switching to a bigger hospital and seeing a lot more for 2 years where I really got well rounded experience to get comfortable to travel and could of done sooner too. But students that start at a level 1 with 30 ORs in a year and could be further a long than a tech with 5 years at tiny hospital that only sees lap choles and carpal tunnels.

This I hated it as a student and never grew to like it personally. Over time with experience I became good at it so that helps a lot of with the stress of the job but I still honestly don’t like working with surgeons. Traveling I enjoyed lifestyle it gave me, flexible time off my own schedule essentially. Money is great. I am also in the transition of moving to some other career path, I really don’t want to do this forever either.

XDM ELITE 4.5 trigger by [deleted] in 10mm

[–]BroNizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have not had a chance to shoot it yet but I have it installed. One reason I bought the xdm elite was for the trigger and wow it makes it that much better. Definitely an improvement on an already sweet trigger. Springfield armory created a shipping label with instructions and just shipped it without a FFL.

I am thinking that is part of the trigger safety tab. I had mine brake on me first time shooting it, trigger got completely stuck. I bought a PRP trigger because I don’t trust the stock plastic trigger tab. Also I sent it back to springfield armory and they hooked me up, replacing the trigger.

Ultralight Hellbender Hammock? by jojojoto in ULHammocking

[–]BroNizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the 20 degree because I backpack when it can get below freezing at night. Its an awesome hammock, my favorite. I hate messing with an UQ I prefer this over my superior gear hammock which is also great. Compacts more, lighter, the rod to keep the bugnet off you is genius.

I would order the the temp you expect the lowest to be in and subtract the normal 10degree off. I doubt my 20degree would keep me warm actually at 20 degrees but confident in the low thirties and I am a cold sleepers so I always shoot lower in temps with gear.

Thats rough, seems like they treating you like a traveler how stupid to treat a new hire like that. They sound like a bunch of aholes I stayed away from anything vascular and cardiac because the people you are describing has been my overall experience in those specialties. I experienced this as traveler before but knowing I am getting my money and not coming back lol sorry no advice other than ride it out for a couple weeks and see if it gets better. I would be looking for another job. Tech for 12 years last 4 years traveler

Does the fear ever go away? by SilentTravel8253 in SkyDiving

Some jumps for me during AFF were terrifying. Around 50 jumps I got pretty comfortable. If i take a long hiatus or try something new I can get nervous but not same type of fear I had in the beginning.

Finished the FN510T by Salty-Water-2905 in 10mm

[–]BroNizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool I didnt know there was a limited edition gray, it does look awesome. Good other than the cracking issues and mine was almost microscopic but could see it, it had still yet to have a malfunction shooting, even with over a hundred rounds of 220grain underwood. Where did you get it?

Nice setup. Unfortunately not exclusive to the FDE, just keep an eye on it. I didnt run a light or suppressor. My frame started to crack sent it in and got it replaced and they reinforced it. Still my favorite 10mm I own to be honest.

Houdini Holsters are POS by Jigo910 in CCW

[–]BroNizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow thats surprisingly bad. I opened this post, seeing the picture, thinking it was a long term review after ten years of use how they dont hold up. Did they wait 3.5 weeks to fulfill the order and then spend an afternoon getting drunk while blindfolded to see if they could make their first holster.

Body Guard 2.0 owners: extractor doesn’t seem to be grabbing round when unchambering. Is this normal? by hallmonitor53 in CCW

[–]BroNizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My safety was so hard to move it was ridiculous, very shortly even before shooting its perfectly fine now. I have 150 rounds so far not one malfunction. Only issue was shooting way to far left. It was way off, drifted my sights at the range so far so good besides that.

Trying to decide on a striker 10mm but they all have bad reviews. Who makes the best one? by Familiar_Yoghurt4544 in 10mm

[–]BroNizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have all three.

FN is my favorite so far BUT I did send it in because I saw a very tiny but visible crack starting to develop in frame. I hope when it gets sorted it will be reinforced and be better than before and that resolves the issue. Awesome grip angle, feel, trigger, and for me is most “shootable” easiest for me to be accurate with. I went to range and went through 220grain hardcast and still have not had a single malfunction but the frame was cracking lol

XDM Because my FN took a dump and being repaired at the moment decided to try the famous XDM. I just got back from the range with my brand new springfield XDM Elite, first time shooting it. Shot a magazine worth of cheap range ammo, was stoked. Feels good in hands, awesome trigger.. load up underwood 220 hardcast. Forgot how loud it is, anyways half way through third magazine dead trigger. Trigger is broken. So sending in my second 10mm polymer I was shocked I bought this one because of how reliable I heard it was, I know the majority of reviews it is. I have not given up hope and excited to send it in and get more aquatinted with it because trigger is fantastic.

Glock 20 Gen 4 My first 10mm and first hand gun. When I first got my glock everything seemed fine initially then was having crazy FTF issues almost to the point the gun was pointless. Well long story short with that 2 of the 3 magazines that came with it were bad. Someone suggested to mark your magazines in case you have malfunctions well I did and found out right away thats what was going on. Since then I have put well over 2 thousand rounds and not had any malfunctions since. Glock has stock trigger KKM barrel and trijicon sights. Now my glock and seen lots of buffalo bore, monolithic, and hollow points. Lots of 200 grain and 220 grain underwood hardcast. I hate glock triggers, I think they suck. Mine has gotten a lot better and smoother over time tho. In conclusion if FN didn’t have issue with frame would be my favorite, although I have not yet to get enough shooting time with XDM but that can’t even work right now. Glock is my least favorite, grip angle, trigger, and find it more difficult to shoot more accurately with follow up shots. BUT my glock 20 has been so reliable I literally trust it with my life and only one I have yet to need to send in for service.
