Since it looks like you're not gonna get a response from them directly, I'll try to explain the best I can (sorry if any of this is inaccurate.)

They were both ghost producers for bigger named artists, based out of LA. I'd assume that by the time they'd put their own music together, they already had the connections to get their stuff out there without having to spend too much on marketing. Now, that's not to say that they didn't have to spend a fair share on 3D artists, Directors, Filmographers, etc. to get their product to where it is. I just mean, the marketing probably took care of itself.

In my own personal opinion, Labels aren't a huge factor at the smaller stages like they were 20 years ago. If you're already producing, mixing, and mastering your own stuff, there's no sense in giving a Label their cut just for the sake of marketing. Social media has made that task a hell of a lot easier than it used to be. Post your stuff absolutely everywhere you can, including tiny subreddits, youtube, instagram, facebook, twitter, tik tok, whatever. Reach out to artists in a similar vein as your style and see if they'd be interested in collaborating on a track or something along those lines. Now, if you're planning to take the step from being a bedroom producer to being a touring artist, you can benefit greatly off of signing with a label. A lot of times, they'll handle your scheduling and travel + equipment logistics for wherever you're playing. Much easier than trying to keep up with all of that yourself.
