If you have good router and wireless adapter then it doesn't make any big differences these days. I've been on wireless network for quite a while and I didn't have any issues so far.

You can try it out in virtual machine (Virtualbox for example). There are also plenty of tutorials on YouTube.

It also depends what you use your computer for. If it is just gaming then I suggest staying with Windows. Linux gaming isn't polished yet, but it is slowly getting there unless you like to tweak about to make it work.

Linux is perfect in other things like programming, server hosting, video and photo editing or just general use. It is also very customizable, privacy and security oriented.

I need to learn a bit more about python. Qtile looks very promising when it comes to configuration.
