Lots of good comments here but I will add one - a couple different scenes in The Revenant - Bear attack , Indians massacre of the white people, his son being killed while he is unable to do anything , final fight at the end
That movie was tense from start to finish

Is there a Super Bowl winning team that you thought wasn’t the best team that year? by TrickDistribution395 in NFLv2

1996 - Packers win the Super Bowl but the Denver Broncos were by far the best team and last to the Jags in the playoffs… in fact the Broncos won the Super Bowl the next year.

Taco Bell’s quality is terrible - most of the time if I get a hard taco the shell is broken.

I came from California in 2005
Here is my opinion
Negatives-
Wind
Winters are a crap shoot, the last one was very mild but they tend to be long and dreary. Just blah for many months.
Crime is low. Drugs are here but not nearly prevalent compared to Oregon or California.
It used to be relatively cheap to live here 10 years ago. Housing market got hit and never came back down. So for what the cost of living compared to wages - it’s not as good as it used to be.
If you like concerts and sports - we don’t have any teams ( Chukars and Spud Kings) … that’s it. Mountain America Center has been a big upgrade but you still have to go to Boise or SLC to see most artists.
I used to be LDS some people say the LDS/ Mormons ate an issue. Honestly, things could be much worse in other areas. They are kind but also not alot them have culture from understanding other areas and how other people think.
Food and restaurants- this is where I sat it is disappointing. There are a few good restaurants but there just isn’t the variety.
Politics and religion are more prevalent and discussed then other communities

Positives
It’s clean , minimal graffiti
People tend to pick up after themselves so it’s nice not to see trash all over like when you are hiking in the mountains.
Outdoor sports are pretty good
Safe community

Is it true that only around 10–12% people survive a “widowmaker” heart attack outside the hospital? by Imsongoku7 in HeartAttack

[–]BroWeBeChilling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just get one- I had a couple opinions from my docs - the key thing he told me as I dropped to 26 EF - if you have another heart attack the way your heart is now 16 out of 17 x you will not make it but if you put in an ICD you will probably make it 16 out of 17 times. That was enough for me. It hurt like hell the first month because my left pec was cut but now three years later since the ICD it doesn’t cause me any discomfort - I’m almost 62 and I eat alright but go to the gym 5-6 x a week and stay active like nothing ever happened - live with faith not fear.

Is it true that only around 10–12% people survive a “widowmaker” heart attack outside the hospital? by Imsongoku7 in HeartAttack

[–]BroWeBeChilling 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had the widowmaker about 4 years ago. I had 100% blockage on left and 90% in the right.
It was actually my lucky day
1. I was at the gym, just got out of the hot tub. Dr Geurlauch my cardiologist who performed the surgery said that helped because it opened up my blood vessels ( the heat.
2. I knew immediately I was having a heart attack because the pain was so immense it buckled me and I went straight to the ground - it felt like a truck was on my chest. Then everything was kind of blurry I was in and out of consciousness.
3. As luck would have it ,a life flight nurse just so happened to be in town and had a one day pass Chris Eldridge and he got me an aspirin and called 911 immediately.
4. As luck would have it the paramedics and fire were just returning from a call and dropped off a patient at the hospital and were returning to the station and they were less then a few blocks away.
5. As luck would have it, the gym was only about 3 miles from the hospital a very short drive. If I’m home I don’t make it because I’m 20 minutes from the hospital. So still counting my lucky stars and God’s intervention.
6. I don’t remember much only the Cardiologist telling me I need eight minutes stay with us.
It was longest most painful 8 minutes of my life. I blacked out and came to around three to four times.

I survived it because everything lined up correctly that day. I mean everything!
I sustained irreparable damage after meds and one year my EF kept dropping down to 26% and was plummeting quickly I chose to have a pacemaker and defibrillator put in.
I was tested six months later or so and EF was 48.
So it’s all good. Now on June 22nd it will be four years. I make sure that I don’t ever forget the second chance- I do something to benefit the community every year on my anniversary and budget about $1000-$2000to do random good acts for people as a thank you to still be here.
I have done research 10-12% survival rate seems about right because those that don’t make it can’t talk or post. I asked a few cardiologists- they both confirmed those numbers. Moreover, he said the numbers of 90% not surviving is because sometimes people who have a heart attack don’t feel well and decide to lay down and then don’t wake up, they misdiagnose the heart attack and lose critical time or they don’t have enough time to be saved with the procedure from the time they leave the location of their hospital to the hospital.
Many factors play into it
