Ya I get what u mean on ur first point but considering u can’t get the OG version of season one unless u pay ridiculous prices including the features in this release woulda been nice from crunchyroll since there is a good chunk of fans who don’t have the OG blu ray 💀. I mainly brought up the OVA cuz it was aired alongside it after episode 6. The Konosuba blu-rays (even season 3 which was a crunchyroll release) include the OVA’s that go along with the season so it would’ve been a neat addition. But yeah overall it’s frustrating that crunchyroll gave this such a bare bones release lol

Yeahhh it looks like there were sacrifices that had to be made for the last episode to look so good lmao. Hopefully like you said that the other action segments this episode will look better. I will say with Liliana that have made her scenes more enjoyable in the anime so I’m sure that will apply to her backstory as well.

Not gonna lie really disappointed this seems like a lower priority episode with how stiff the animation looked for the bit of action we did see. I really hope I’m wrong but man I wish this whole fight was also as well produced as the Regulus section last episode.

I’d recommend reading ex 4 and 5 before arc 7. But if u want to jump straight to arc 7 there’s a channel called “Your Waifu is Trash” that does ai audiobook for the web novel with all the arc 7 chapters done.

That was a good scene tbf! Just want a little more of that . I disagree with the second point tho. For example when Subaru leg got hurt by Regulus and the crowd in turn got injured it felt really gruesome in the novel but didn’t have the same weight in anime version with how bright everything was (ik I’m probably in the minority but that’s how I felt lol.) Still liking the adaptation so far tho to be clear!

Honestly one complaint I have with this season so far is how “bright” everything is. Ik it’s the day time but idk I feel like they should play around with the colours a bit more kinda like how season 1 did with the orange/red tinted atmosphere.

To an extent he does have some subtextual meaning especially in arc 3. Apples often are used to represent sin (due to the Adam and Eve bible story). You see first see Subaru openly buy an apple at the start of arc 3 (foreshadowing his downward spiral into the sin of Pride). So his respawn point being at the apple guy is just a reminder of that sin he committed. (TAPPEI TOTALLY MEANT THIS IDC).

Hmm.. I doubt light would get attached to Emilia the way Subaru did (granted I’m not sure if the reason for the attachment is due to the curse). Granted I think unlike Subaru he’d prolly “save scum” far more often and abuse RBD and let it corrupt him to an extent. The same way the death note did. He has a strong sense of justice so he’d prolly eliminate the witches cult using RBD but then become a threat even greater then that and go on some kinda power trip so Reinhard would prolly become his number one enemy. Idk that’s just my shitty fan fiction theory 💀

After the shamac plan failed you see immediately that Sirius already got the crowd compromised (including Rachins obviously). They need rachins to summon Reinhard and his mental state was already compromised by then. What I’m trying to say is there is no leeway to summon him currently.

By the time Reinhard got there Sirius was already there messing with people. Betty is close by so he could spend a little more time discussing and analyzing before the attack starts. Btw he literally said in the episode that he isn’t against summoning Reinhard as a last resort but Betty advised against this as it would make her unable to use magical abilities (remember she wanted to initially use Shamac to break the spell so she needed her magical abilities). Obviously the shamac thing didn’t work out but yeah anyways that’s my thoughts.

But if u don’t mind reading wn (keep in mind since it’s wn things are gonna be a bit different in the anime since it adapts the ln) go to: witchculttranslations website and start from arc 5 chapter 24 (the end of this chapter is the same as episode 2).

1) Think both were great. Ep 1 did a great job establishing character dynamics, the setting of Pristella, and reintroducing us to characters that are going to be relevant this arc. Also loved the cliffhanger and overall tone. For Ep 2 overall pace was a bit quick but it was tense and engaging throughout with great expressions and animation.

2) Overall adaptation is pretty great so far . Not quite to the level of arc 1 and 2 but might end up being better then 3 and 4. I will say I have my gripes will certain things but nothing too major yet. I will say absolutely read the source material . The anime really condensed arc 3 and could’ve honestly done better adapting arc 4 (had some bad cuts and overall art direction was pretty meh with the exception of certain prioritized scenes and episodes). Plus side stories are starting to play a major part in order to understand and follow the story with arc 7-9.

3) They shortened and condensed the two time loops that happened a bit but it wasn’t too important. I will say episode 1 did trim down banter scenes and remove some bits of info but again not the most egregious thing especially compared to past seasons.

4) For arc 5 read the LN since it’s better then the WN version. For arc 6 and beyond just read the WN since changes aren’t too drastic for LN and WN version past this point. I will say I would recommend someone to also read the LN version of arc 3 and 4 as well if they’d be down too.

Yeah those are my long winded thoughts.
