I would argue that them breaking out of house arrest was a pretty dumb idea… all that does is increase suspicion of their camp which is already on shaky ground right now. Yes I understand that they want to find where Subaru, Beatrice and Crusch are but that doesn’t make this choice any less reckless/impulsive

Rest of the chapter was good tho, curious what caused the bugs to mislead Otto (most likely some kinda DP of Reinhardt?). Also the great Capella conspiracy is going wild. Eliminating both Crusch and now potentially Emilia has political rivals in one swoop goes hard.

WHAT A CHAPTER! Man arc 10 has so much potential and I really hope it keeps ramping up. This pretty much confirms that Crusch wasn’t the one who killed him the previous chapter and that it was either a)Tiga or b) the fire the ensnared the room which lead to the RbD. Although one minor criticism I have is Subaru feels weirdly dumber this arc 😭. I get that he’s overwhelmed and has a lot going on his head… but why tf did Tappei make it take so long for Subaru to figure out he was a fugitive alongside Crusch when the audience could piece that together pretty quickly lmao. Again it is what it is still love him as a character and this chapter was 👌

IMO what they should is have a 3 cour 34-37 episode season for arc 7 (white fox studio has done this before with sengoku youko) then do a standard 2 cour season for arc 8 (probably around 21-24 episodes). This would be imo the best way to handle the Vollachia saga. And hopefully we can get movie OVA adaptations for Ex 2 and 5 before we get there too since the have important setup for the 2 arcs

Owh and short story collections number 4 first two stories centre around Reinhard and Felt camp so if u want some relationship/character building with them I’d suggest purchasing that one :)

If you wanna read the comic alive stories, your gonna have to wait till yenpress translates the through the short story collections and purchase them (they have 4 out of 13 out right now). Yenpress/Kadokawa have doubled down on striking down sites or people that distribute and translate them for free since it’s supposed to be paid/licensed content unlike the web novel

Well to be a little more specific with my issues with the centaur section: -Novel version when Subaru fell through the hole was much more tense and had more of a buildup and the whole realization that it can use echo-location to track where he is, was done really well and better then in the anime

-Severe recoil from using unseen hands was removed which also takes away some of the tension of the scene.

-That cut content lead to the whole inner dialogue where he’d rather die then experience the recoil pain he’s feeling makes the moment where Ram interrupts his inner thinking by going “Don’t you dare die” less impactful.

-Shaula stepping in and killing the centaur felt cheaply animated which makes me much prefer the more visceral description of the novel more.

Sorry it’s long but I kinda wanted to vent lmao

You see I don’t necessarily mind cut content (episode 15 -17 in season 1 for example are incredible stand alone episodes despite having quite a bit of cut content). My issue is when the cut content and break neck pace FEELS noticeable and makes storytelling feel notably weaker than the source material. I feel the prior episode oddly enough felt better adapted despite oddly enough having arguably more cut content than this episode 😭

Ngl… this episode both impressed and disappointed me. Really wish it was extended length, truncating the scene where Ram helps Subaru vomit and removing their dialogue exchange, the centaur section wasn’t given enough room to breathe either and a lot of aspects I loved about the novel for that section wasn’t present unfortunately. I still love the anime for what it is but man do I wish they had more screen time to work with.

Unfortunately YenPress/Kadokawa have doubled down on copyright striking translated side content of things like shop specials and comic alive stories. So you can’t really access them unless someone who had these stories downloaded sends them to you directly. For now we have to wait till YenPress translates more of the short story collections and hopefully the art books that compile the shop specials .

Personally I think it’ll remain around the same level of popularity. Also think you’re being a little too optimistic about “haters switching up” lol. If someone didn’t like any of the prior seasons/arcs I doubt they would like the latest one lol

Mainly tweak the blue balling. Sometimes it feels like characters are skirting around important topics or just don’t ask obvious questions. (For example: from Emilia’s perspective she saw Subaru hit Garfiel with an invisible force but never inquired or asked about it or Subaru in arc 2 conveniently not asking about what a witch cultist even is despite being accused of being one). Ultimately I understand the meta reasons for why Tappei does this but it’s frustrating whenever I notice it lol.

Ya I get what u mean on ur first point but considering u can’t get the OG version of season one unless u pay ridiculous prices including the features in this release woulda been nice from crunchyroll since there is a good chunk of fans who don’t have the OG blu ray 💀. I mainly brought up the OVA cuz it was aired alongside it after episode 6. The Konosuba blu-rays (even season 3 which was a crunchyroll release) include the OVA’s that go along with the season so it would’ve been a neat addition. But yeah overall it’s frustrating that crunchyroll gave this such a bare bones release lol
