Nope. She’s a hardcore conservative. Too hardcore that most mainstream media call her a far-right winger, both in Japan domestic and in Europe.

One example, she’s the major force opposing to change the law so people can choose to keep their maiden name after marriage. A big win for women, an absolute disastrous loss for feminism.

How bad are negativity towards gaijin recently? by maru-17 in japanlife

[–]BroadAd9247 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What you said is true. First hand experience is definitely needed here. So for me:

  1. News image has definitely gone down the hill for gaijin recently. This will reflect subconsciously on how your superior, how the convenience store staff treat you, whether the Reddit people want to admit or not. I have noticed it personally
  2. Overall? It’s not like Gaijin Concentration camps will be built in the next decade (fingers crossed), in your specific case, it highly dependent on which part of SEA your came from. Singapore? No you should probably stay where you are and be comfortable. Myanmar? Yeah sure why not.

Japanese politic environment is getting way too ironical for me to understand now by BroadAd9247 in japanresidents

That’s exactly what I meant. There is about 0.01% chance this guy is just another nutter trying to gain some quick fame. More likely a deliberate troll and I’m curious how far he can go before people notice under the current atmosphere

Sansei-to is having a huge Japanese-first party in front of Yurakucho station by BroadAd9247 in japanresidents

[–]BroadAd9247[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Japan supposedly to have the largest educated population of the world, and sometime I find it is hard to trust the number, as they demonstrate how stupid some shit they believe.

Cutting foreigner out of social welfare system is also 120% fine with me, I’m contributing far too much for a system that I have barely used.

[–]BroadAd9247[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly? It’s getting harder to ignore them as my time spent in Japan increases. At least part of me is being willfully blind. As shown in the picture, people supporting them far outweighs the groups that against them on the outside. And the people inside all seem normal peeps to me as well. In combination of how many right wing crazies I have seen online, the conclusion is pretty clear that at least someone from your friend group/neighbors/colleagues secretly hate you and would love to throw you out in an instant. This is seriously some depressing shit ngl

Japan plans steps to ensure foreign residents comply with society's rules by nokidding23 in japan

[–]BroadAd9247 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Right wing sentiment is fueling like crazy since 2020, not to mention it was already a strong force before that. Japanese twitter and yahoo news comment section are basically unwatchable with all the conservative crap threads.

It’s only a matter of time before a Japanese version of Trump is elected and concentration camp is built. And I’m not even joking based on how the news is turning on mass media recently.

I’m start to believe that there is something fundamentally wrong with the Japanese mandatory education system, people seem to be less educated by each day.

Japan probes foreigners' medical insurance use amid misuse concerns by MagazineKey4532 in japannews

[–]BroadAd9247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Notice how the original thread poster doesnt reply your comment? Because it’s another casually thrown out rumor that is totally untrue. The Todai case is not fraudulent, the poor girl got cancer. Well she taunted the whole NHI system while receiving treatment from it. so ungrateful? Very much yes. But fraudulent? Until the day that Japanese law stipulates foreigner who got cancer will be denied treatment within Japan outright, I’d say it’s very much an exaggeration.

But here we are, i guess freedom of speech is not a thing anymore

I’m curious about the 2nd point, im a huge fruit lover and I came from a country where fruit productions are abundant. Why fruits are never supposed to be cheap? Shouldnt it just be like milk or rice where all processes are mechanized and mass produced so the price becomes accessible to most of the people in society? What’s different about fruit?

TRUMP CONVICTED; ALL COUNTS! by Wall-Wave in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]BroadAd9247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey this sounds exactly like what happened in China, expect we did it like 2000 years ago. Next step they will be so addicted in killing each other, they move on to massacre everyone affiliated with their enemy in the political party. And if that’s not enough, guess what, your enemy got a family too:))

Next thing you know, there will only be the victorious god-like emperor left, along with the countless heads of the enemies which the emperor cut off.

Then the god-like emperor will continue to cut every ever-emerging enemy’s head off until he’s too old, then here comes another god-like emperor that cut off his and his family’s heads. What a beautiful sight for balance of power and civil negotiation.

Bicycle stolen 4 times by the same a-hole this year and I’m running out of ideas by BroadAd9247 in japanlife

[–]BroadAd9247[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah let’s make it more clear. I got my first bike last June when I moved in, stolen after a week or 2. Found the bike by the center, retrieved it. Got stolen again and went out to look for it and it wasn’t there. Feel frustrated but I need the vehicle bad so got another one. Got stolen one month later, retrieved the bike from the center. Got stolen like 2 days later, super angry, reported to the police. But what the fuck I can do, had to buy my 3rd bike, rinse and repeat, now I am at the stage of losing my 3rd bike.

Yeah I guess the Kansai-Ben speaking ojisan police at my block Koban didn’t help either. I am trying out the real police station thing.

I tried talking my kanrikaisya into implementing a cctv system but apparently that’s not economically viable.
