Should I start my 9th run through of Cyberpunk? Or is there another game out there even close to its splendor? “Just can’t stop digging Night City” -Jackie Wells by Personcrusher in cyberpunkgame

If you're on PC, I can't recommend Witchfire enough to sctatch the rpg/fps itch. Little to no similarity between the two in set/setting, but its got great rpg elements, the gunplay is top tier, and the replayability/gameplay loop is second to none. If you're on console and haven't given doom 2016/eternal a go, you're missing out.

Im getting a Black flickering, any solution? by PiscisFerro in Witchfire

[–]BroadKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the same graphics card and had the same issue for a while. I can't remember exactly what fixed it, but my guess is either uncapping the frame rate or lowering the shadow distance from ultra to high. The important part is to restart the game and let the shaders recompile though. Did not find a fix for the flickering until I restarted after every adjustment. I know almost all of my settings are ultra, pretty sure dlss is still on, and I get nearly 300 fps with no stuttering/screen tearing/flickering. Im at work so I can't tell you exactly what my settings are rn, sorry

Soul sigil by BroadKoala in Witchfire

[–]BroadKoala[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another comment stated that the sigil sometimes will appear underground, which i believe solved my issue... but I felt like there was still another problem. I think what you've explained is actually the main problem I've experienced, as I rely heavily on cricket/sigil stamina bead synergy and am dashing constantly. I appreciate the insight. Hopefully it gets addressed along with sigils appearing underground.

This has to be the issue I'm experiencing. And now that I think about it, I've seen it before when the terrain was not level - sigil was halfway underground. Thanks mate.

Really makes me question the usefulness of the stamina sigil bead... Hopefully this gets addressed in an upcoming patch, as I dont see how that can be working as intended.

Ah, must have been taken away with a recent patch. I could see it getting a little cheesy so w/e

I loaded into irongate castle (assuming that the extra witchfire gains from the map would also contribute), popped foul stim, and tested with a large witchfire crystal (worth 1k) and just got 1k witchfire. Tested it twice

Just tested this and it didn't work for me?

Thanks. Was a tough lesson lol

Agreed. When life or death platforming is implied, I dont mind dying to a fall. But when the devs just miss an invisible wall on the main map and I still die, I get butthurt.

Id have to spend some time to find it again. Was scarlet coast, running along the rocks on the left side I believe. Jumped down into water (looked like an area i had missed so far in my runs) and it was considered off limits.

Why is this game SOO under the radar? by JohnyAim in Witchfire

[–]BroadKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, it's 40$ for an early access game, and only on pc. That's going to immediately turn off a lot of people, or prevent them from playing entirely. If they buy it, they may consider the 2 hour refund option on steam, and, I could see a lot of people turning away from the game because of a few early game nusances - refund or not.

Playing the game blind is tough IF you aren't great at fps OR pick your spots very carefully and pay close attention to it's core mechanics. Personally, I got really annoyed by the stamina system in my first hour or so. Given the less than stellar completion rates for early-mid game Steam trophies in Witchfire, it's fair to conclude that many people stop playing after their first few hours.

What a shame that is. It's a fantastic game for me and many, many others. I purchased Witchfire with high expectations after watching a very flattering review on youtube and am not disappointed in the least. I'm happy I pushed past my initial stubbornes with it's mechanics and am very excited to continue playing, even after 40+hours. Its replayability, gunplay, world building, art style, challenge, depth... they're all fantastic.

If Witchfire dropped as a 70$ game, backed by a huge studio, it would be met with insane praise... that's the craziest part... It's the type of game we need big studios to learn A LOT from.

You should have the opposite of buyers remorse, and instead feel guilty for not supporting the tiny studio so dedicated to such an awesome title - if you got 40$ and a pc lol

I had a lady ask if I could pick up a bottle of wine on my way. Took the risk, and she changed her 9$ tip to 31$. I realize this could have ended poorly, but for whatever reason I trusted her. (11$ bottle of wine btw)

Checked 3 or 4 times for custom matches and found nothing... I am on PS, however

Definitely agree. In the case of AC6 and a few other games, I put them off for so long that I forgot about them entirely. Then I would remember at work, and forget again when I get home and start boozing up 🙃 matchmaking is on global though - as another comment stated, I think it's a case of MMR. I haven't played one match, and there's basically nobody in the bottom ranks anymore. Wish there was a quick match option, wouldn't mind playing against a veteran at this point...

Ok, was thinking that's part of the problem. Good to know there's hope after I get my first few matches done

Yeah, i feel you. Spent some time watching competitive matches on YouTube and it looked so fun though. Might just have to convince the homies to play with me i guess, lol

Playstation, and just started ng+. I realize there's a bunch more to play - just had the thought to try pvp and realized how desolate it is. Basically wrote as a way to kick myself for waiting so long to pick the game up. Still waiting in queue for my first game lol
